Background: Oxidative stress (OS) has been a target of interest for vascular dementia, given its implications in pathogenesis. OS may be important in prodromal stage, such as vascular mild cognitive impairment (vMCI), and examining OS markers in vMCI may help better understand biological processes in the onset of cognitive impairment. - Cholic acid-based biodegradable reverse polymeric micelles were developed as a drug delivery system for poorly soluble drugs, specifically through the synthesis of N-acetylcysteine functionalized triarmed poly (Dl-lactide) known as ACyCA-triarmed (DLL).
- The micelles were characterized using various techniques like GPC and FT-IR, and their critical micellar concentration was determined to be 1.99 mg/mL.
- The research also demonstrated that these reverse micelles could encapsulate gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with improved antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, making them a promising platform for slow, sustained drug release of hydrophobic drugs such as doxorubicin.
