Titanium alloy, as a recognized difficult-to-cut material, places higher demands on the performance of cutting tools. Compared with the mainstream cemented carbide tools, PcBN tools have a higher life and better machining performance. In this paper, a new type of cubic boron nitride superhard tool was prepared by introducing YO-stabilized ZrO (YSZ) under high temperature and high pressure (1500 °C, 5.5 GPa), and the effect of the variation of YSZ addition on the mechanical properties of the tool was systematically analyzed, and the cutting performance of the tool was also analyzed by cutting TC4. It was found that a small amount of YSZ addition, which generated a sub-stable t-ZrO phase during the sintering process, could improve the mechanical properties of the tool and increase its cutting life. When YSZ was added at 5 wt%, the flexural strength and fracture toughness of the composites reached the maximum values of 637.77 MPa and 7.18 MPa m, while the cutting life of the tools reached the maximum value of 2615.81 m. And when YSZ was added at 2.5 wt%, the hardness of the material reached the maximum value of 43.62 GPa.

This study employed large eddy simulation (LES) with the wall-adapting local eddy-viscosity (WALE) model to investigate transitional flow characteristics in an idealized model of a healthy thoracic aorta. The OpenFOAM solver pimpleFoam was used to simulate blood flow as an incompressible Newtonian fluid, with the aortic walls treated as rigid boundaries. Simulations were conducted for 30 cardiac cycles and ensemble averaging was employed to ensure statistically reliable results.

To analyze the clinical characteristics, treatments, and prognosis of patients with ovarian juvenile granulosa cell tumor (JGCT). Clinical and pathological data, and follow-up information of 34 patients diagnosed with JGCT from 2000 to 2021 were collected from the surveillance, epidemiology, and end results (SEER) database. A retrospective analysis was conducted to summarize the patients' clinical and pathological characteristics, treatments, and prognosis.

This study provides comprehensive overview of the current level, sources and human exposure risk to hazardous polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in South American outdoor air. Research documents were obtainable for only 6 countries within the target period (2014 - 2024). For all contaminants, urban concentrations exceeded that of rural/remote locations.

Context: Natural fluorapatite (FAP) has been investigated as an adsorbent for the removal of dyes such as methylene blue (MB) and crystal violet (CV) from aqueous solutions. Effective dye removal is crucial for water treatment, particularly for industrial wastewater containing toxic dyes. FAP, a naturally abundant material, was characterized using XRD, FTIR, and SEM analysis.

Introduction: Intensive research is dedicated to the development of novel biomaterials and medical devices to be used as grafts in reconstructive surgery, with the purpose of enhancing their therapeutic effectiveness, safety, and durability. A variety of biomaterials, from autologous bone to polymethylmetacrylate, polyether ether ketone, titanium, and calcium-based ceramics are used in cranioplasty. Porous hydroxyapatite (PHA) is reported as a possible material for bone reconstruction, with good signs of biocompatibility, osteoconductive and osteointegrative properties.
