Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma originating from the maxillary sinus is rarely reported in the literature. Diagnosis is challenging since the long absence of signs and symptoms allows it to grow undetected or be confused with benign inflammatory conditions. The purpose of this paper is to present an unusual manifestation of this rare pathology. A patient in his 50s, presented to his local emergency department with malar and left eye pain after local trauma. Physical examination showed infraorbital edema, palpebral ptosis, exophthalmos, and left ophthalmoplegia. CT scan showed a soft tissue mass measuring 43x31 mm in the left maxillary sinus. An incisional biopsy was performed, and results showed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with positivity for CD10, BCL6, BCL2, and Ki-67 index greater than 95%. Afterward, the patient promptly started treatment with rituximab-cyclophosphamide-hydroxydaunorubicin-Oncovin-prednisone (R-CHOP) chemotherapy. A good medical history, clinical and imaging evaluations, and anatomopathological studies are crucial to establish an early diagnosis of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

Pigment particles used in tattooing may exert long terms effect by releasing diffusible degradation products. In the present work, aqueous suspensions of the organic orange diazo pigment PO13 were aged by exposure to simulated sunlight at 40 °C. The morphology and the surface charge of PO13 particles were barely modified upon aging, but primary particles were released by de-agglomeration.

Superdiffusion is surprisingly easily observed even in systems without the integrability underpinning this phenomenon. Indeed, the classical Heisenberg chain-one of the simplest many-body systems, and firmly believed to be nonintegrable-evinces a long-lived regime of anomalous, superdiffusive spin dynamics at finite temperature. Similarly, superdiffusion persists for long timescales, even at high temperature, for small perturbations around a related integrable model.

Traveling waves of excitation arise from the spatial coupling of local nonlinear events by transport processes. In corrosion systems, these electro-dissolution waves relay local perturbations across large portions of the metal surface, significantly amplifying overall damage. For the example of the magnesium alloy AZ31B exposed to sodium chloride solution, we report experimental results suggesting the existence of a vulnerable zone in the wake of corrosion waves where local perturbations can induce a unidirectional wave pulse or segment.

Background: Although it is well established that lower cognitive performance, on average, is associated with a greater risk of developing Alzheimer's disease (AD) dementia, it is unclear whether distinct cognitively-defined subgroups exist among non-demented older adults and whether such profiles map onto distinct AD neuroimaging measure profiles.
Method: The sample consisted of 167 non-demented older adults from the BIOCARD study with comprehensive neuropsychological and clinical evaluations, amyloid PET and brain MRI scans. The MRI measure included: global cortical volume in AD-signature regions and a medial-temporal lobe composite; resting-state functional connectivity within 5 large-scale cognitive networks; global white matter microstructure, index by fractional anisotropy (FA) and radial diffusion (RD) on DTI scans; and global white matter hyperintensity (WMH) volume on FLAIR scans.
