Introduction: In cosmetic practices, non-surgical rhinoplasty using filler injections has become increasingly common. Nevertheless, the outcome and overall complications have not been studied as a systematic review in the literature. This study provides a high-quality systematic review of studies reporting clinical and patient-reported outcomes following non-surgical rhinoplasty with hyaluronic acid (HA) to further guide practitioners.

Methods: This systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines and was registered in PROSPERO. The search was conducted using MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane. The literature retrieval was conducted by three independent reviewers, and the remaining articles were screened by two independent reviewers. The quality of included articles was assessed using the MINORS and methodological quality and synthesis of case series and case reports tools.

Results: A total of 874 publications were found based on the search criteria. A total of 3928 patients were reviewed for this systematic review from 23 full-text articles. For non-surgical rhinoplasty, Juvéderm ultra was the most commonly used HA filler. The nasal tip was most commonly injected (13 studies), followed by the columella (12 studies). Nasal hump deformities are the most common reason for non-surgical rhinoplasty. All studies showed high patient satisfaction. Among all patients reviewed, eight developed major complications.

Conclusion: Non-surgical rhinoplasty performed with HA has minimal side effects and a short recovery period. Furthermore, non-surgical rhinoplasty with HA results in high satisfaction. To strengthen the presently available evidence, further well-designed RCTs are needed.

Level Of Evidence Iii: This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article. For a full description of these Evidence-Based Medicine ratings, please refer to the Table of Contents or the online Instructions to Authors https://www.springer.com/00266.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) injection, traditionally used for non-surgical rhinoplasty, is often associated with adverse effects such as increased nasal dorsum width. This study introduces the linear stereoscopic stack volume enhancement (LSSVE) injection technique as a solution for patients with low-profile noses, aiming to improve the nasal dorsum dimension, prevent long-term nasal widening, and address related concerns. A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical registry data of patients treated at Shanghai Phiskin Clinic from December 2020 to June 2024, who received HA injections using the LSSVE technique.

Introduction: Non-surgical alternatives to rhinoplasty are gaining interest but, despite its popularity, research on the long-term psychological impact and post-rhinofiller patients' satisfaction is limited. This study evaluates patient-reported satisfaction and quality of life immediately after and 6 months post-non-surgical rhinoplasty using the FACE-Q questionnaire.

Patients And Methods: This prospective study was conducted from May 2023 to March 2024, involving 83 patients who underwent rhinofiller treatments for esthetic purposes.

Complications of Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty with Hyaluronic Acid Injections: A Narrative Review.

January 2025

Primus Medical Center (GVM), Gruppo Otorinolaringoiatrico della Romagna, Via Punta di Ferro 2/c, 47122, Forlì, FC, Italy.

Background: The increasing popularity of cosmetic procedures has led to a rise in both surgical and nonsurgical interventions. Rhinoplasty, particularly nonsurgical rhinoplasty using injectable fillers such as hyaluronic acid (HA), has become highly sought after due to its minimally invasive nature. Despite its benefits, complications can occur, ranging from minor to severe.

The FACE-Q Aesthetic module measures patient-important outcomes following surgical and non-surgical facial cosmetic procedures. The primary aim of this systematic review was to summarize the pre- to post-intervention mean differences of facial aesthetic interventions that evaluate outcomes using the FACE-Q Face Overall, Psychological, and Social scales. Ovid Medline, Embase, Cochrane, and Web of Science databases were searched on December 20, 2022 with the assistance of a health-research librarian (CRD42023404238).

Anatomical consideration and techniques in thread nose augmentation with mesh scaffold implant.

J Dermatolog Treat

Division in Anatomy and Developmental Biology, Department of Oral Biology, Human Identification Research Institute, BK21 FOUR Project, Yonsei University College of Dentistry, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, Korea.

Introduction: Non-surgical rhinoplasty has evolved with the introduction of volumizing threads, which offer a less invasive alternative to traditional methods by enhancing nasal contours while minimizing filler use. This technique is gaining popularity, particularly in Southeast Asia, due to its shorter recovery time, reduced risk profile, and ability to prevent the 'Avatar nose' effect. However, there is limited anatomical guidance available for its application, especially in the Asian population.
