Octopuses coordinate their arms in a range of complex behaviors. In addition to brain-based sensorimotor integration and control, interarm coordination also occurs through a nerve ring at the arms' base. Here, we examine responses to mechanosensory stimulation of the arms by recording neural activity in the stimulated arm, the nerve ring, and other arms in a preparation of only the ring and arms. Arm axial nerve cords show graded responses to mechanosensory input and activity is transmitted proximally and distally in the arm. Mechanostimulation of one arm generates spiking in the nerve ring and in other arms. Activity in the nerve ring decreases with distance from the stimulated arm. Spontaneous activity with a range of spiking patterns occurs in the axial nerve cords and the nerve ring. These data show rich interarm signaling that supports arm control and coordination occurring outside of the brain.

Background: Neuronal structure is disrupted after spinal cord injury (SCI), causing functional impairment. The effectiveness of exercise therapy (ET) in clinical settings for nerve remodeling post-SCI and its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to explore the effects and related mechanisms of ET on nerve remodeling in SCI rats.

Background And Objective: Radiosurgery can serve as a primary, adjuvant, or salvage treatment modality for cavernous sinus tumors (CST), providing high tumor control. However, particularly with cavernous sinus expansion, there may be insufficient distance from the optic apparatus to perform radiosurgery safely. The internal carotid artery adjacent to the distal dural ring (ICAddr), when enhancing similarly to the CST, can be difficult to delineate, and can lead to over-contouring of target volume near the optic nerve and therefore increasing the risk of radiation-induced optic toxicity.

Gastric cancer is described as a malignancy occurring in the region between the gastroesophageal junction and the pylorus. According to the histology, majority of gastric cancers are classified as adenocarcinomas. The prevalence of bone metastasis in the general population is 2-3%.

Background: Until now, Schnabel's cavernous optic nerve atrophy (SCONA) has solely been a histopathological diagnosis exhibiting variable degrees of optic nerve (ON) atrophy with characteristic cavernous spaces filled with acid mucopolysaccharides. We report the first correlation of histopathologic findings with spectral domain-optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) imaging in SCONA.
Methods: We examined the eye of an index patient with histopathologically identified SCONA who had undergone multimodal imaging before enucleation for iris ring melanoma.

Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the interocular symmetry of macular sublayer thickness among healthy children aged 6-12 years.
Methods: The Shiraz Pediatric Eye Study included 500 randomly selected children who underwent SD-OCT of the macula and optical biometry using the IOLMaster-500. Exclusion criteria involved ocular abnormalities or axial lengths outside the 21.
