The epididymis is responsible for post-testicular sperm maturation as it provides a favorable environment for spermatozoa to gain the ability for movement and fertilization. The recent evidence has shown that, the spermatozoa are vulnerable to dynamic variations driven by various cellular exposure mechanisms mediated by epididymosomes. Exosomes provide new insight into a mechanism of intercellular communication because they provide direct evidence for the transfer of several important bio-active cargo elements (proteins, lipid, DNA, mRNA, microRNA, circular RNA, long noncoding RNA) between epididymis and spermatozoa. In broad sense, proteomic analysis of exosomes from epididymis indicates number of proteins that are involved in sperm motility, acrosomal reaction, prevent pre-mature sperm capacitation and male infertility. Pinpointing, how reproductive disorders are associated with bio-active cargo elements of nano-scale exosome in the male reproductive tract. Therefore, the current review presents evidence regarding the distinctive characteristics and functions of nano-scale exosome in the male reproductive tract in both pathological and physiological developments, and argue that these vesicles serve as an important regulator of male reproduction, fertility, and disease susceptibility.

Platelet-derived extracellular vesicles (PEVs) are released by platelets in the blood circulation, which carry a rich bio-molecular cargo influential in intercellular communications. PEVs can enter the lymph, bone marrow, and synovial fluid as nano-sized particles, while platelets cannot cross tissue barriers. Considering the advantages of PEVs such as low immunogenicity, high regulation of signal transduction, and easy obtainment, PEVs may be promising therapeutic tools for medical applications.

Antimicrobial resistance is becoming more prominent day after day due to a number of mechanisms by microbes, especially the sophisticated biological barriers of bacteria, especially in Gram-negatives. There, the lipopolysaccharides (LPS) layer is a unique component of the outer leaflet of the outer membrane which is highly impermeable and prevents antibiotics from passing passively into the intracellular compartments. Biodynamers, a novel class of dynamically bio-responsive polymers, may open new perspectives to overcome this particular barrier by accommodating various secondary structures and form supramolecular structures in such bacterial microenvironments.

Oxygen (O) supply is constantly maintained by the vascular network for a proper tissue oxygenation. Hypoxia is the result of an increased O demand and/or decreased supply and is common in both physiological conditions and human diseases. Angiogenesis is one of the adaptive responses to hypoxia and is mainly regulated by the hypoxia-inducible factors, HIFs.

The oviduct provides optimum physiological and biochemical milieu essential for successful fertilization, early embryo development and facilitates functional maturation of spermatozoa. A study has revealed that spermatozoa alters the gene expression in bovine oviductal epithelial cells (BOECs) remotely via bio-active particles, thus acting as a cue to the oviduct prior to their arrival. However, very little attention has been paid to the question of whether spermatozoa could alter the cargo of extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from BOECs.
