Objective: Our current study tried to assay the role of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) TLR8-AS1 in regulating preeclampsia.

Methods: TLR8-AS1 expression was examined in the clinical placental tissues of preeclampsia patients and the trophoblast cells induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Then, different lentivirus was infected into trophoblast cells to study the role of TLR8-AS1 in cell functions. Furthermore, interactions among TLR8-AS1, signal transducer and activator of transcription 1 (STAT1) and toll-like receptor 8 (TLR8) were determined. A rat model of preeclampsia induced by N(omega)-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester was developed to validate the in-vitro findings.

Results: High expression of TLR8-AS1 was detected in placental tissues of preeclampsia patients and LPS-induced trophoblast cells. In addition, overexpression of TLR8-AS1 arrested the proliferation, migration and invasion of trophoblast cells, which was related to the upregulation of TLR8 expression. Mechanistically, TLR8-AS1 recruited STAT1 to bind to the TLR8 promoter region, and thus promoted the transcription of TLR8. Meanwhile, overexpression of TLR8-AS1 was shown to aggravate preeclampsia by elevating TLR8 in vivo .

Conclusion: Our study confirmed that TLR8-AS1 aggravated the progression of preeclampsia through increasing the expression of STAT1 and TLR8.

Micro(nano)plastics (MNPs), widely distributed in the environment, can be ingested and accumulated by various organisms. Recently, the transgenerational transport of MNPs from parental organisms to their offspring has attracted increasing attention. In this review, we summarize the patterns, specific pathways, and related mechanisms of intergenerational transfer of MNPs in plants, non-mammals (zooplankton and fish) and mammals.

Purpose: Trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (Trop2) is overexpressed in various solid tumors and contributes to tumor progression, while its expression remains low in normal tissues. Trop2-targeting antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), sacituzumab govitecan-hziy (Trodelvy), has shown efficacy in targeting this antigen. Leveraging the enhanced specificity of ADCs, we conducted the first immunoPET imaging study of Trop2 expression in gastric cancer (GC) and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) models using Zr-labeled Trodelvy ([Zr]Zr-DFO-Trodelvy).

Preeclampsia (PE) is a severe placental complication occurring after the 20th week of pregnancy. PE is associated with inflammation and an increased immune reaction against the fetus. TYRO3 and PROS1 suppress inflammation by clearing apoptotic cells.

Reduced trophoblast migration and invasion contribute to unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA). Aquaporin 3 (AQP3) plays a crucial role in facilitating trophoblast migration and invasion during early pregnancy through fetal-maternal crosstalk. This study aimed to comprehensively investigate the mechanism involving AQP3 and its modulatory effects on human extravillous trophoblast (HTR-8/SVneo cells) migration and invasion.

Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) describes a group of rare benign and cancerous lesions originating from the trophoblast cells of the placenta. These neoplasms are unconventional entities, being one of the few instances in which cancer develops from the cells of another organism, the foetus. Although this condition was first described over 100 years ago, the specific genetic and non-genetic drivers of this disease remain unknown to this day.
