This case report details a 43-year-old female diagnosed with the collapsing variant of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) post-infection with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The patient contracted COVID-19 after returning from a trip to Florida and initially presented to the emergency department with gastrointestinal symptoms. Thereafter, the patient was diagnosed with COVID-19 and was admitted for acute kidney injury and worsening COVID-19 infection. FSGS is a glomerulopathy that consists of glomerular scarring that leads to nephrotic syndrome, secondary to podocyte effacement. FSGS has many causes, as well as distinct variants, but is noted to have an association with some viruses, most notably HIV and cytomegalovirus (CMV). Although the association between FSGS and HIV or CMV is well established, the evidence is minimal in regard to other viruses. This case report serves to highlight the potential association of COVID-19 with FSGS.

Background: Integration of preprocedural imaging techniques in ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation may improve the identification of arrhythmogenic substrates, particularly relevant for patients with nonischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM) with sub-optimal outcomes. We assessed the impact of advanced preprocedural imaging on the safety and long-term efficacy of radiofrequency catheter ablation (RCA) for VT, comparing patients with NICM and ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM).
Methods: In this prospective, single-center study, consecutive patients referred for scar-related VT ablation underwent multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) and late gadolinium enhancement cardiac magnetic resonance (LGE-CMR).

Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignancy of the head and neck. Pseudovascular squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC) is a rare variant that occurs commonly in the skin of the head and neck. However, oral cavity involvement is extremely rare, with only a few cases reported to date.

Objective: Current guidelines recommend the use of glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (GpIIb/IIIa) inhibitors in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) only as a bail-out therapy. However, drug penetration to the jeopardised area may not be achieved due to impeded blood flow and increased microvascular resistance. Aim of our study is to investigate the impact of distal intracoronary GpIIb/IIIa inhibitor agent infusion in STEMI patients.

The southeastern region of Tibet, which serves as the primary concentration area for marine-type glaciers, has fostered a multitude of glacial lakes that are highly sensitive to global climate change. Glacial lakes play a crucial role in regulating the freshwater ecosystems of the region, but they also pose a significant threat to local infrastructure and populations due to flooding caused by glacial lake outbursts. Currently, a limited amount of research has focused on the monitoring and analysis of glacial lakes in southeastern Tibet.

Objectives: To explore new metrics for assessing radical prostatectomy difficulty through a two-stage deep learning method from preoperative magnetic resonance imaging.
Methods: The procedure and metrics were validated through 290 patients consisting of laparoscopic and robot-assisted radical prostatectomy procedures from two real cohorts. The nnUNet_v2 adaptive model was trained to perform accurate segmentation of the prostate and pelvis.
