Background: In Uganda, caregivers of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) face complex challenges, often lacking specialized skills for effective caregiving. Despite the growing prevalence of ADRD in the country, there's a significant literature gap on caregiver selection and obstacles faced in urban and rural areas. This study aims to provide insights into the experiences of Ugandan caregivers, enhancing understanding of ADRD caregiving.

Background: Projected Alzheimer's disease (AD) prevalence is expected to fourfold by 2050. With the escalating numbers of individuals affected by neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease (PD) and AD, associated challenges encompass increased burdens on individuals and families, societal and political implications and economic impacts. Integrating patient and caregiver perspectives is essential to creating comprehensive, patient-centered care models that promote well-being and resilience in the face of degenerative neurological diseases such as AD.

Background: The experience of spouse caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is marked by witnessing the gradual cognitive decline of their loved ones. This journey transforms the nature of their marital relationship, evolving from mutual interdependence to a more unilateral caregiving role. Despite this significant shift, the specific phenomenon of self-loss among these caregivers remains underexplored in academic research.

Background: Community-based centers for people living with dementia (PLWD) have been implemented as part of the National Plan of dementia in Chile, delivering a multicomponent and multiprofessional intervention to support the PLWD and their families, integrating social and clinical aspects. We sought to examine the implementation and adaptation of these centers, transitioning from adult day services to a community-based dementia care model that has escalated to a public policy.
Method: We conducted a realistic evaluation using multiple qualitative data collection strategies and informants to analyze complex interventions, in 4 of a total of 9 centers.
