Planned change in modern hierarchical organizations: A three-step model.

Change is often uncomfortable and it is challenging when the need for substantive change emerges in a hierarchical organization. It is critical to consider both processes and people when planned change becomes necessary. Members of the organization may look to existing theories and models that would be helpful to navigate planned change. The authors present the Proposed Model of Planned Change, which is a synthesis of three well-known change theories/models into one cohesive three-step model. This model integrates process, change agent(s), and collaboration with other group members. The authors highlight the model's strengths and limitations in the context of a hierarchical nursing school's curriculum revision as an example. This model could prove useful for similar organizations seeking similar changes, as well as for a variety of organizations in any circumstance where change is desired. The authors will provide a progress report of implementation of this three-step model with lessons learned in a subsequent manuscript.

Objective: Marine aquaculture workers are at high risk of injury and fatalities. Understanding the role of weather in occupational safety and health (OSH) in marine aquaculture is important for work design, planning, and for safety management and hazard reduction, but there is limited research on this subject.

Methods: Using findings from a review of research and grey literature and from key informant interviews and roundtable discussions in Atlantic Canada, this paper explores the impact of weather-driven hazards on marine aquaculture in Northern and temperate regions, along with the strategies employed to mitigate these impacts.

Objective: To develop and assess the psychometrics of the Chronic Headache Self-Efficacy Scale (CHASE).

Background: Existing scales assess self-efficacy in coping strategies and management of symptoms and triggers but do not measure other important self-efficacy domains, such as performing daily activities and socializing in patients with chronic daily headache (CDH).

Unlabelled: The scientific and practical interest in studying the biomechanical characteristics of the lens capsule, on the one hand, is associated with its anatomical significance in modern microinvasive phaco surgery, and on the other hand, with investigation of the mechanisms of lens curvature changes during accommodation.
