Breast-related herniation (BRH) is a vague term for many clinicians. The absence of a universal nomenclature and the different nature of the herniation process involved, being true or false, contribute to this vagueness. BRH includes a spectrum of disorders ranging from a few congenital breast disorders to commoner herniation processes related to acquired breast diseases.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare, particularly in the domain of facial processing tasks, has witnessed substantial growth in the 21st century. However, this requires sufficient appraisal for clinicians and researchers to adequately understand nomenclature and key concepts commonly used in this field. This article aims to elucidate the diverse applications of facial processing tasks, such as facial landmark extraction, face detection, face tracking, facial expression recognition and action unit detection, and their relevance to ophthalmology and other medical specialties.

With the rapid expansion of microplastic research and reliance on semantic descriptors, there is an increasing need for plastic pollution data harmonization. Data standards have been developed but are seldom implemented across research sectors, geographic regions, environmental media, or size classes of plastic pollution. Harmonization of existing data is currently hindered by increasingly large datasets using thousands of different categorical variable descriptors, as well as various metrics used to describe particle abundance and differing size ranges studied across groups.

Background: Modern trends in reconstructive surgery involve the use of free perforator flaps to reduce the donor site morbidity. The course of perforator vessels has a great anatomic variability and demands detailed knowledge of the anatomical relationships and the variability of the course of the perforators. The numerous modifications to perforator nomenclature proposed by various authors resulted in confusion rather than simplification.

Until recently, plastic pollution research was focused on the marine environments, and attention was given to terrestrial and freshwater environments latter. This discussion paper aims to put forward crucial questions on issues that limit our ability to conduct reliable plastic ecological risk assessments in rivers. Previous studies highlighted the widespread presence of plastics in rivers, but the sources and levels of exposure remained matters of debate.
