Objective: To compare the frequency of clinically significant missed injuries in clinically stable trauma patients undergoing initial whole-body computed tomography (WBCT) versus selective imaging. Secondary objectives include comparisons of radiation exposure, incidental findings, ED length of stay (LOS), hospital LOS and mortality.
Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study of trauma activations at a tertiary trauma centre in patients with normal vital signs from 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2022.

Advances in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies have made the detection of the molecular causes of paediatric diseases increasingly affordable, accessible and rapid. While exome sequencing and genome sequencing were until recently only available for research, they are now used in health care practice. The clinical application of NGS has raised many challenges in genetic counselling for families in terms of the interpretation of test results and incidental findings, as well as technical limitations in the event of inconclusive results.

Douglas abscesses (DA) involving the ovaries and/or fallopian tubes and tubo-ovarian abscesses (TOA) constitute a very rare finding in virginal females. Underlying conditions are suspected to play a role in their development; often however, the exact pathomechanism remains hypothetical or unknown. We report the case of a 19-year-old virginal female who was referred to our outpatient clinic for further clarification of a 6-month ongoing secondary amenorrhea.

Background Gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) is a rare but highly aggressive malignancy, often discovered incidentally during cholecystectomy for symptomatic cholelithiasis. Despite significant geographic variation, the association between gallstones and GBC is well-documented, with chronic inflammation from gallstones potentially contributing to carcinogenesis. Objective This study aims to determine the prevalence of incidental GBC in patients undergoing cholecystectomy for symptomatic cholelithiasis at a tertiary care hospital in Peshawar, Pakistan.
