From the viewpoint of BDS bridge displacement monitoring, which is easily affected by background noise and the calculation of a fixed threshold value in the wavelet filtering algorithm, which is often related to the data length. In this paper, a data processing method of Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise (CEEMDAN), combined with adaptive threshold wavelet de-noising is proposed. The adaptive threshold wavelet filtering method composed of the mean and variance of wavelet coefficients of each layer is used to de-noise the BDS displacement monitoring data. CEEMDAN was used to decompose the displacement response data of the bridge to obtain the intrinsic mode function (IMF). Correlation coefficients were used to distinguish the noisy component from the effective component, and the adaptive threshold wavelet de-noising occurred on the noisy component. Finally, all IMF were restructured. The simulation experiment and the BDS displacement monitoring data of Nanmao Bridge were verified. The results demonstrated that the proposed method could effectively suppress random noise and multipath noise, and effectively obtain the real response of bridge displacement.

Transient hydraulic tomography (THT) is proven to be effective in representing hydraulic and storage properties in diverse hydrogeologic settings. Sequential inversion of THT is computationally efficient, however, its accuracy is constrained by the number and sequence of pumping datasets used in the inversion. While signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is commonly used to regulate the order of pumping datasets, it often disregards the information content.

Sports behavior prediction requires precise and reliable analysis of muscle activity during exercise. This study proposes a multi-channel correlation feature extraction method for electromyographic (EMG) signals to overcome challenges in sports behavior prediction. A wavelet threshold denoising algorithm is enhanced with nonlinear function transitions and control coefficients to improve signal quality, achieving effective noise reduction and a higher signal-to-noise ratio.

We developed an entropy-based wavelet method to effectively remove interference from strong radio frequency (RF) and auxiliary alternating current (AC) fields in a linear ion trap (LIT) mass spectrometer coupled to a charge sensing particle detector (CSPD). By optimizing the energy-to-Shannon entropy, we identified the optimal mother wavelet family and decomposition level and determined suitable threshold values based on the median of sub-band coefficients at each decomposition level. These thresholds were applied as rigid criteria across all decomposition levels to eliminate noise interferences and avoid the arbitrary choice of the threshold.

Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals are used to detect the health status of the heart, providing an important basis for the prevention and diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. However, ECG signals are susceptible to environmental and equipment-related influences, which can obscure the characteristic information within the signals. Removing noise from ECG signals is an urgent problem.

Edge detection is a crucial task in image processing and remote sensing, particularly for accurately identifying and separating shapes in noisy digital images. To enhance robustness and detail in edge detection, this study presents an innovative edge detection method, which integrates a denoising module and an adaptive thresholding technique to effectively address challenges associated with Gaussian noise in images. The proposed denoising module employs wavelet and Gaussian denoising functions to decompose, filter, and reconstruct the image, thereby reducing the impact of noise and enhancing image quality.
