Photocatalytic water splitting is a promising way to produce H, a green and clean energy source. However, efficient H production typically relies on the addition of electron donors, such as alcohols and acids, which are neither environmentally friendly nor cost-effective. Recently, we have witnessed a surge of studies in coupling photocatalytic H evolution with organic pollutant oxidation, which significantly promotes charge separation and improves the overall photocatalytic efficiency.

Solar-driven photocatalytic technology holds significant potential for addressing energy crisis and mitigating global warming, yet is limited by light absorption, charge separation, and surface reaction kinetics. The past several years has witnessed remarkable progress in optimizing photocatalysis electron spin control. This approach enhances light absorption through energy band tuning, promotes charge separation by spin polarization, and improves surface reaction kinetics strengthening surface interaction and increasing product selectivity.

Perceived stress is a construct of crucial importance to health and well-being, necessitating the provision of economic, psychometrically sound instruments to assess it in routine clinical practice and large-scale survey studies. Two competing short versions of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), each consisting of four items, have been proposed. In the present study, we compare the two in a sample representative of the German general population ( = 2,527).

Alkali metal doping is a new and promising approach to enhance the photo/electrocatalytic activity of NiS-based catalyst systems. This work investigates the impact of sodium on the structural, electronic, and catalytic properties of NiS. Comprehensive characterization techniques demonstrate that Na-doping causes significant changes in the NiS lattice and surface chemistry translating into a larger bandgap than NiS.

College of Civil Engineering, Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, 238000, China; Chinaland Solar Energy Co., Ltd., Hefei, 238000, China. Electronic address:

The preparation strategy is the important factor to obtain the effective photocatalyst, and the thermal decomposition could be used to prepare photocatalysts with high crystallinity and photoactivity. In this paper, thermal decomposition method was used to deposit CuO nanoparticles on TiO nanotube arrays (TiO NTs), and the TiO NTs/CuO exhibited remarkably high visible light absorption and photoelectrocatalytic performances toward dye degradation and Cr(VI) reduction. The potential degradation pathway and toxicities of rhodamine B (RhB) dyes and intermediates were investigated.
