Two aminoglycoside antibiotics (AGs), gentamicin (GEN) and tobramycin (TOB), have good antibacterial activity against most pseudomonas aeruginosa and staphylococcus. The molecular structure of these drugs lack chromogenic groups, which brings challenges to their detection. In this project, the detecting methods for GEN and TOB utilizing surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) based on γ-AlO-modified silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) coated with bovine serum albumin (BSA) were established. The enhancement factors (EFs) of GEN and TOB were 2.44 × 10 and 2.67 × 10, respectively. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and spectrophotometric techniques were used to characterize the substrate and the combination of the substance with drugs. The pH, the addition amounts for the substrate and coagulant, as well as the mixing time were optimized. On the basis of single factor experiments, a more scientific response surface model was established. The concentrations of GEN and TOB showed good linear relationships with their Raman signals in the ranges of 6.67 × 10 - 2.00 × 10 and 6.67 × 10 - 3.00 × 10 mol L respectively. The limits of detection (LODs) were 11.88 and 1.26 nmol L for GEN and TOB, respectively. The methods were used successfully for the samples determination of the two AGs in commercial drugs and meat products.

Background: A promising approach to the treatment of bacterial infections involves inhibiting the quorum sensing (QS) mechanism to prevent the formation and growth of bacterial biofilm. While antibiotics are used to kill remaining bacteria, QS inhibitors (QSIs) allow for antibiotic doses to be reduced. This study focuses on evaluating the synergy between gentamicin sulphate (GEN), tobramycin (TOB), or azithromycin (AZM) with linolenic acid (LNA) against the formation of an early Staphylococcus aureus biofilm.

Background: Concerns have recently been raised about risks to the fetus resulting from paternal exposure to antiseizure medications (ASMs). To address these concerns, we conducted a systematic review of the literature to assess neurodevelopmental and anatomical outcomes in offspring born to fathers taking ASMs at the time of conception.
Methods: Electronic searches of MEDLINE, PsycINFO, and Embase were conducted to identify human studies published in English that reported on outcomes, comprising neurodevelopmental disorders, major congenital malformations, small-for-gestational age or low birth weight, in offspring of fathers taking ASMs at conception.

Background: Drug-resistant infections rapidly increased and contributed to life-threatening nosocomial infections; however, the distribution, species, drug susceptibility and dynamic trends of infection in China remained unclear. This study was conducted to better understand the epidemiological data of increased infections from 2016 to 2022 in a hospital in China.
Methods: This study involved 3301 patients infected with , diagnosed using a nosocomial infection surveillance system in a tertiary hospital between 2016 and 2022.
