This work demonstrates the utilization of short-time Fourier transform (STFT), and continuous wavelet transform (CWT) electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for time-resolved analysis of stochastic collision events of platinum nanoparticles (NPs) onto gold ultramicroelectrode (UME). The enhanced electrocatalytic activity is observed in both chronoamperometry (CA) and EIS. CA provides the impact moment and rough estimation of the size of NPs. The quantitative information such as charge transfer resistance (R ) relevant to the exchange current density of a single Pt NP is estimated from EIS. The CWT analysis of the phase angle parameter is better for NP collision detection in terms of time resolution compared to the STFT method.

Wearable and implantable biosensors have rapidly entered the fields of health and biomedicine to diagnose diseases and physiological monitoring. The use of wired medical devices causes surgical complications, which can occur when wires break, become infected, generate electrical noise, and are incompatible with implantable applications. In contrast, wireless power transfer is ideal for biosensing applications since it does not necessitate direct connections between measurement tools and sensing systems, enabling remote use of the biosensors.

Glycosylation, the intricate process of adding carbohydrate motifs to proteins, lipids, and exosomes on the cell surface, is crucial for both physiological and pathological mechanisms. Alterations in glycans significantly affect cancer cell metastasis by mediating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. The subtle changes in glycosylation during malignant transformations highlight the importance of analyzing cell and exosome surface glycosylation for prognostic and early treatment strategies in cancer.

Electronic address:

Herein, we report the development and characterisation of an electrochemical biosensor with a polypyrrole (Ppy)-based molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) for the serological detection of the recombinant nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 (rN). The electrochemical biosensor utilises a Ppy-based MIP formed on a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) at the gold interface to enhance Ppy layer stability on the screen-printed electrode (SPE). Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) were employed for the electrochemical characterisation of screen-printed gold electrodes (SPGEs) modified with MIP or non-imprinted polymer (NIP) layers.

The Effects of Morphology and Hydration on Anion Transport in Self-Assembled Nanoporous Membranes.

Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104, United States.

Ordered nanoporous polymer membranes offer opportunities for systematically probing the mechanisms of ion transport under confinement and for realizing useful materials for electrochemical devices. Here, we examine the impact of morphology and ion hydration on the transport of hydroxide and bromide anions in nanostructured polymer membranes with 1 nm scale pores. We use aqueous lyotropic self-assembly of an amphiphilic monomer, with a polymerizable surfactant to create direct hexagonal (H) and gyroid mesophases.

Background: Blood GFAP levels have the potential to reflect and predict worsening disability in individuals with degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and Parkinson's Disease (PD). Recently published research suggests that blood GFAP levels can be used to detect even subtle damage to the degenerative disease. In this study, we evaluated the effectiveness of the KDS2010 (MAO-B inhibitor) drug targeting AD by measuring blood glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) levels in APP/PS1 mice using a magnetic bead-based electrochemical sensor.
