Objective: ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders, seen in children and adolescents, and is often treated with various pharmacological agents, especially methylphenidate. There are differing opinions in the literature regarding the cardiovascular safety of long-term methylphenidate use. Studies suggest that the drug may increase the risk of hypertension, myocardial infarction, ventricular arrhythmia, sudden cardiac death, cardiomyopathy, heart failure (HF), pulmonary hypertension, and stroke.

The effects of T4 are mainly manifested by positive ino- and chronotropism. The syndrome accompanying hypothyroidism in rabbits (impaired myocardial contractility and reduced ejection capacity) is caused by a deficiency of thyroid hormones - especially T4. The study group consisted of a total of 41 animals: 15 males and 26 females, ranging in age from 2 months to 8 years, with echocardiogram showing reduced fractional shortening (<30%), with normal results of heamatological and biochemical tests.

Aim: Diaphragm dysfunction (DD) is a keystone factor in difficult weaning from invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV). Diaphragm ultrasound (DUS) is the preferred method for the evaluation of diaphragm function in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting, namely through the diaphragm thickening fraction (DTF). However, its potential role in the decision-making process of mechanical ventilation weaning is yet to be established.

To analyze the ultrasonographic measurements of inferior vena cava (IVC) and abdominal aorta in healthy full-term neonates throughout the early postnatal period. Prospective observational study was conducted. A total of 132 healthy full-term neonates, who were born at the Kunshan First People's Hospital between May 1 and August 30, 2023, were enrolled as the study subjects.
