Manganese oxide nanoparticles (MnO Nps), sonochemical synthesized and characterized in our laboratory, are proposed as fluorescent sensor for selenium (Se) determination. The new methodology has been developed based on the enhancing effect of the Se(IV) on fluorescent emission of MnO Nps. Experimental variables that influence on fluorimetric sensitivity were optimized. The calibration graph using zero order regression was linear from 0.189 ng L to 8.00 × 10 µg L, with correlation coefficient better than 0.99. Under the optimal conditions, the limits of detection and quantification were of 0.062 ng L and 0.189 ng L, respectively. The trueness of the methodology was assessed through standard addition method obtaining recovery near to 100%. This method showed good tolerance to foreign ions, particularly to Se(VI), and was applied to determination of Se(IV) trace in food and drink samples with satisfactory results. With the intention of preserving the environment from harmful effects, a degradation study of the used nanomaterials has been included for their subsequent disposal.

Atomically thin two-dimensional nanosheets of nitrogen-rich CN, CN, and CN are synthesized by sonochemical process. Despite their high nitrogen content, their triazole-based crystal structures remain intact after exfoliation. Among the present materials, the nitrogen-richest CN nanosheets display the highest photocatalytic activity for ammonia production, highlighting the synergetic effect of composition control and exfoliation.

Dimetridazole (DMT), a nitroimidazole used in veterinary medicine for treating protozoan infections, poses significant carcinogenic and mutagenic risks, necessitating precise monitoring to ensure food safety. We report the development of an advanced electrochemical sensor based on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with a nanostructured cassiterite (SnO)/carbon black (CB) composite, synthesized via hydrothermal and sonochemical techniques. The sensor benefits from SnO's high electrical conductivity, chemical stability, and large bandgap, while CB enhances its performance with superior conductivity.

Metol (MTO), a commonly used photographic developer, has become an environmental pollutant due to its extensive use and subsequent release into water sources. The accumulation of MTO poses significant risks, including aquatic toxicity and potential bioaccumulation, leading to adverse effects on ecosystems. To address these environmental challenges, we developed a La₂NiO combined with graphene oxide (La₂NiO₄@GO) nanocomposite modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for the ultrasensitive detection of MTO.

Two octa-coordinated lanthanum (III) complexes of deprotonated azaphosphor β-diketon and diimine ligands, [LnLQ] (L = [ClCHC(O)NP(O)(NCH)], Q = Phen (C1) and Bipy (C2)), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, and NMR spectra. X-ray crystallography revealed a distorted tetragonal antiprism LaO6N2 coordination geometry around the lanthanum atom in both compounds. Nano-sized complexes (Ć1 and Ć2) were synthesized via a sonochemical process and analyzed using SEM and XRPD.

This work presents a new and facile synthesis approach for multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) decorated with ruthenium oxide (RuO) nanoparticles using a simple and efficient sonochemical method. The strong interaction and homogenous distribution of RuO nanoparticles on the surface of MWCNTs were revealed by Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The presence of metal oxide nanoparticles anchored onto the surface of MWCNTs was further confirmed by X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis.
