Conviction Narrative Theory (CNT) is conceptually so multifaceted as to make critical evaluation difficult. It also omits one course of action: Active engagement with the world. Parsing the developmental and mechanistic processes within CNT would allow for a rigorous research programme to put the account under test. I propose a unifying account based on active inference.

Uncertain choices with asymmetric information: how clear evidence and ambiguity interact?

Front Psychol

Real-world decisions often involve partial ambiguity, where the complete picture of potential risks is unclear. In such situations, individuals must make choices by balancing the value of available information against the uncertainty of unknown risks. Our study investigates this challenge by examining how people navigate the trade-off between the favorability of limited evidence and the degree of ambiguity when making decisions under partial ambiguity.

Anomalous pulmonary vein drainage is a rare but clinically relevant variant of the cardiovascular anatomy. We present a case report of a 22-year-old male who was incidentally found to have anomalous pulmonary vein drainage into the innominate vein. The patient had a known history of seizures and was brought to the emergency department following a simple tonic-clonic seizure.

Telemedicine (TM) has emerged as a valuable tool in managing pediatric type 1 diabetes (T1D), particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic when traditional in-person visits were limited. This narrative review examines the impact of TM on patient-provider relationships, glycemic control, and overall diabetes management in children and adolescents with T1D. Studies consistently demonstrate high levels of patient and provider satisfaction with TM, citing increased consultation frequency, reduced travel burdens, and lower associated costs.

Objectives: The 2022 US Supreme Court decision dramatically shifted the legal landscape in health care, leaving state legislatures to redefine the ethics of medical practice. As gold-standard medical procedures become banned and criminalized, physicians are facing heightened legal uncertainty and grappling with moral dilemmas of where and how to practice. This study aimed to quantitatively assess trends in legal concern among medical students and identify correlations with decision making regarding future medical training.

For consideration of uncertainties of a medicine dataset, a new conceptual architecture fuzzy three-valued logic is introduced in this research work. The proposed concept is applied to the heart disease dataset for the assessment of heart disease risk in individuals. By comparison of three binary (0,1) input variables, the variables' uncertainties and their collective impact can be analyzed that provide complete information leading to better outcome prediction.
