Background: The Prostate Imaging-Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) calls for reporting the prostate index lesion and the location within the transition (TZ) or peripheral zone (PZ) and location on a corresponding sector map. The aim of this study was to train a deep learning DL-based algorithm for automatic prostate sector mapping and to validate its' performance.

Methods: An automatic 24-sector grid-map (ASG) of the prostate was developed, based on an automatic zone-specific deep learning segmentation of the prostate.

Objective: In preterm and very low birth weight (VLBW) infants, attention-related problems have been found to be more pronounced and emerge later as academic difficulties that may persist into school age. In response, based on three attention networks: alerting, orienting, and executive attention, we examined the development of attention functions at 42 months (not corrected for prematurity) as a follow-up study of VLBW ( = 23) and normal birth weight (NBW:  = 48) infants.

Method: The alerting and orienting attention networks were examined through an overlap task with or without warning signal.

Background: Extracellular vesicles are easily accessible in various biofluids and allow the assessment of disease-related changes in the proteome. This has made them a promising target for biomarker studies, especially in the field of neurodegeneration where access to diseased tissue is very limited. Genetic variants in the LRRK2 gene have been linked to both familial and sporadic forms of Parkinson's disease.

Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) is characterized by intellectual impairment caused by CGG repeat expansion in the FMR1 gene. When repeats exceed 200, they induce DNA methylation of the promoter and the repeat region, resulting in transcriptional silencing of the FMR1 gene and the subsequent loss of FMRP protein. In the past decade or so, research has focused on the role of FMRP as an RNA-binding protein involved in translation inhibition in the brain in FXS model mice, particularly by slowing or stalling ribosome translocation on mRNA.
