Drug solubility is a determining factor for controlled release, and solubility-dependent release kinetics can be modified by changing the drug's state in the polymer matrix through partial molecular imprinting (PMI), although research in this area remains limited. This novel PMI approach creates nanocavities within the polymer by partially retaining the imprinting molecule and trapping the drug. Such a method holds promise for developing advanced biomaterial-based drug delivery systems for anticancer therapies.

Article Synopsis
  • Sudan faces a significant issue with snakebites, especially among farm workers, yet lacks comprehensive statistics and understanding of the problem due to inadequate data.
  • A survey of 394 healthcare providers revealed that while 58.1% had sufficient knowledge about snakes, only 45.3% understood snakebites, with only 25.9% having received relevant training.
  • The findings indicate a critical need for improved educational programs and protocols to better equip healthcare providers in managing snakebites effectively in affected regions of Sudan.

Background: Nutrient overload predisposes the development of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). However, there are no specific pharmacological therapies for MAFLD. Asperuloside (ASP), an iridoid glycoside extracted from Eucommia ulmoides leaves, can alleviate obesity and MAFLD.
