The purpose of this work is to improve the efficiency in estimating the average causal effect (ACE) on the survival scale where right-censoring exists and high-dimensional covariate information is available. We propose new estimators using regularized survival regression and survival Random Forest (RF) to adjust for the high-dimensional covariate to improve efficiency. We study the behavior of the adjusted estimators under mild assumptions and show theoretical guarantees that the proposed estimators are more efficient than the unadjusted ones asymptotically when using RF for the adjustment. In addition, these adjusted estimators are - consistent and asymptotically normally distributed. The finite sample behavior of our methods is studied by simulation. The simulation results are in agreement with the theoretical results. We also illustrate our methods by analyzing the real data from transplant research to identify the relative effectiveness of identical sibling donors compared to unrelated donors with the adjustment of cytogenetic abnormalities.

The article is motivated by an application to the EarlyBird cohort study aiming to explore how anthropometrics and clinical and metabolic processes are associated with obesity and glucose control during childhood. There is interest in inferring the relationship between dynamically changing and high-dimensional metabolites and a longitudinal response. Important aspects of the analysis include the selection of the important set of metabolites and the accommodation of missing data in both response and covariate values.

Introduction: This real-world study assessed the effectiveness of bebtelovimab (BEB) versus nirmatrelvir/ritonavir (NR) among outpatients with COVID-19 during the Omicron variant era.
Methods: We conducted a cohort study evaluating patients treated with BEB or NR from February to August 2022 (study period). Follow-up began the day after treatment and continued for 30 days.

Simultaneously estimating the kinematic state and extent of extended targets is a nonlinear and high-dimensional problem. While the extended Kalman filter (EKF) is widely employed to achieve this goal, it may not be sufficient for mobility targets. To address this issue, this paper first proposes to embed unscented Kalman filter (UKF) into Gaussian process regression (GPR) since the superiority of UKF to high nonlinear.

Data aggregation across multiple research centers is gaining importance in the context of MRI research, driving diverse high-dimensional datasets to form large-scale heterogeneous sample, increasing statistical power and relevance of machine learning and deep learning algorithm. Site-related effects have been demonstrated to introduce bias in MRI features and confound subsequent analyses. Although Combating Batch (ComBat) technique has been recently reported to successfully harmonize multi-scale neuroimaging features, its performance assessments are still limited and largely based on qualitative visualizations and statistical analyses.

Analysis of healthcare utilization, such as hospitalization duration and medical costs, is crucial for policymakers and doctors in experimental and epidemiological investigations. Herein, we examine the healthcare utilization data of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The characteristics of the SLE data were measured over a 10-year period with outliers.
