Data on outcomes of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) are limited in patients with pulmonary atresia intact ventricular septum (PAIVS). The objective of this study was to describe the use of ECMO and the associated outcomes in patients with PAIVS. We retrospectively reviewed neonates with PAIVS who received ECMO between 2009 and 2019 in 19 US hospitals affiliated with the Collaborative Research for the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (CoRe-PCICS).

Excessive kidney mobility is an underestimating challenge for surgeons during retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESL). There is no technique approved as a gold standard procedure for reducing excessive kidney mobility. The study aimed to uncover predictive factors for determining excessive renal mobility by utilizing clinicodemographic characteristics and noncontrast computed tomography (NCCT) data.

Background: Right ventricular (RV) failure after heart transplantation (HT) is common in those with pretransplantation elevated pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). Mechanical circulatory support has been used as a bridge to recovery, with mixed outcomes. We describe a patient with failed single-ventricle palliation in whom severe RV failure developed after HT.

Background: There is limited experience and knowledge of the use of the fenestrated frozen elephant trunk (FET) technique in acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD). This study's aims were to assess the clinical outcomes of the fenestrated FET technique for ATAAD and to identify its best practices and pitfalls.
Methods: This study included 101 patients who underwent emergency surgical aortic repair for ATAAD at our hospital between October 2018 and April 2023.
