Dengue is a subject of major concern in global health because its incidence is increasing, and its geographical area continues to expand. On a global scale, the projections available point in the direction of an extension of the geographical areas of the Aedes vectors, partly in connection with the increase in temperatures and the modification of precipitation cycles in the context of the climate change. This expansion is expected at the borders of the areas of current spread with, however, a possible contraction in certain areas that are now endemic. In Europe, the threat of a dengue epidemic outbreak now exists. It is on this continent that the number of new exposures in immunologically naïve people is likely to be the greatest in the near future.

Effective vaccines have become available, but their use in travelers is typically only recommended to individuals with documented prior infection. We present a fatal case of severe dengue in an unvaccinated traveler without known prior dengue virus infection but longitudinal serologic and molecular evidence for secondary infection.

The current manuscript presents a mathematical model of dengue fever transmission with an asymptomatic compartment to capture infection dynamics in the presence of uncertainty. The model is fuzzified using triangular fuzzy numbers (TFNs) approach. The obtained fuzzy-fractional dengue model is then solved and analyzed through fuzzy extension of modified residual power series algorithm, which utilizes residual power series along with Laplace transform.

Background: Previously we identified a complex of non-structural protein (NS) 1 - Thrombin (NST) in dengue infected patients. Here, we investigated how the concentration of NS1 and NST differ in various dengue severity levels as well as their demographic and clinical features.
