This research demonstrates the design and development of a novel dual-targeting, pH-sensitive liposomal (pSL) formulation of 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU), , (5-FU-iRGD-FA-pSL) to manage breast cancer (BC). The motivation to explore this formulation is to overcome the challenges of systemic toxicity and non-specific targeting of 5-FU, a conventional chemotherapeutic agent. The proposed formulation also combines folic acid (FA) and iRGD peptides as targeting ligands to enhance tumor cell specificity and penetration, while the pH-sensitive liposomes ensure the controlled drug release in the acidic tumor microenvironment.

Oil has become a prevalent global pollutant, stimulating the research to improve the techniques to separate oil from water. Materials with special wetting properties-primarily those that repel water while attracting oil-have been proposed as suitable candidates for this task. Background: Superb microvascular imaging (SMI) is an advanced form of Doppler flow imaging which has advantages in tiny vessels and low-speed flow. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of combining greyscale ultrasound (US) with SMI in differentiating between benign and malignant thyroid nodules.

Methods: A search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and Web of Science for relevant studies published till 25 October 2023 that investigated the combined use of greyscale US and SMI to differentiate between benign and malignant thyroid nodules.

A transistor design employing all vertically stacked components has attracted considerable attention due to the simplicity of the fabrication process and the high conductivity easily realized by achieving nanolevel short channel lengths with two-dimensional current paths. However, fundamental issues, specifically the blocking of the gate electrical field to the semiconductive channel layer and high leakage current at the "off" state, have impeded this configuration in becoming a major transistor design. To address these issues, it has been proposed to introduce a blocking layer (BL) with embedded hole structures and source electrode with embedded hole structures, enhancing gate field penetration and carrier modulation.

Objective: Advanced imaging methods are crucial for understanding stroke mechanisms and discovering effective treatments to reduce bleeding and enhance recovery. In pre-clinical in vivo stroke imaging, MRI, CT and optical imaging are commonly used to evaluate stroke outcomes in rodent models. However, MRI and CT have limited spatial resolution for rodent brains, and optical imaging is hindered by limited imaging depth of penetration.
