A sensitive and specific high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method has been developed to determine the pharmacokinetic interactions of the antiplatelet agents aspirin and clopidogrel combined with dl-3-n-butylphthalide. For the determination of aspirin metabolite salicylic acid, clopidogrel inactive metabolite SR26334 and NBP prototype drug in rat plasma, plasma samples were prepared by precipitation of proteins using methanol containing 0.1% formic acid, followed by centrifugation. Chromatography was performed on a C column, eluting with a gradient of acetonitrile (with 0.1% formic acid)-water (with 0.1% formic acid). The detection adopted electrospray ion source and positive ion multiple reaction monitoring modes. The linear detection response range of salicylic acid is 80-80,000 ng/ml, and the linear detection response range of SR26334 and dl-3-n-butylphthalide is 10-10,000 ng/ml. Our study revealed that dl-3-n-butylphthalide affected the pharmacokinetics of aspirin and clopidogrel when administered to rats.

Background: Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is the standard treatment for acute myocardial infarction (MI). This study aimed to investigate the use of DAPT and de-escalation after discharge in real-world practice among patients with acute MI undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in Taiwan.
Methods: Using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database, we included patients who received PCI for acute MI and survived to discharge with DAPT from 2011 to 2021.

Intracranial hemorrhages are highly concerning but underreported complications related to flow diversion (FD) treatment of intracranial aneurysms. Herein, we aimed to characterize these complications and the factors influencing their occurrence. We retrospectively reviewed patients treated with FD from 2013 to 2023 at a single U.

Background And Purpose: Symptomatic internal carotid artery stenosis (sCAS) is an essential cause of transient ischaemic attack (TIA) or minor stroke. We aimed to evaluate whether the superiority of aspirin-ticagrelor over aspirin-clopidogrel varies between patients with sCAS or not.
Methods: This was a post-hoc analysis of the High-Risk Patients with Acute Nondisabling Cerebrovascular Events-II (CHANCE-2) trial, all of which were loss-of-function alleles carriers.

Flow diversion is a transformative approach in neurointerventional surgery for intracranial aneurysms that relies heavily on effective antiplatelet therapy. The ideal approach, including the timing of treatment, the use of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT), and the number of flow-diverter devices to use, remains unknown. DAPT, which combines aspirin with a thienopyridine like clopidogrel, prasugrel, or ticagrelor, is the standard regimen, balancing thromboembolic protection and hemorrhagic risk.

Coronary artery ectasia (CAE) is an abnormal dilatation of coronary artery segments, often linked with atherosclerosis. This report discusses two cases of CAE presenting as acute coronary syndrome. A 36-year-old man had proximal blockage in the left circumflex artery (LCx) and ectasia in the obtuse marginal artery and left anterior descending artery (LAD), while a 53-year-old male smoker had an ectatic LAD with a substantial thrombus.
