Penetrating Cranio-Maxillofacial trauma obscuring the clear view of the face in addition to an impediment to emergency airway management has been a rare occurrence in the archives of emergency trauma. A four-year-old girl reported to the emergency following a lunch box sharp rim penetrating wound to her left supraorbital region, limiting the access and clear view of her face. CT scan ruled out the serious orbital injury, but clearly revealed the piercing of the brain matter in the frontal region. The toddler's golden hour of primary management was spent in the darkness with the lunch box covering her entire face, obstructing the basic intubation methods required for primary airway management. Interpretation of the radiological investigations necessitated the multiple collaboration of the neurosurgery and maxillofacial surgeons, planning a systematic recovery of the foreign body without any major complications. Follow-up period was uneventful with no neurological and major cosmetic deficits.

Background/objectives: In vitro studies suggest that incorporating sorghum flour into staple foods including pasta reduces their starch digestibility and hence may suppress postprandial blood glucose levels, appetite and energy intake; however, these effects in humans have yet to be reported. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of red and white sorghum-containing pasta on blood glucose response, appetite and energy intake in humans.
Subjects/methods: In a randomised crossover design, healthy individuals (n = 20) consumed the following three iso-caloric test meals (each providing 50 g available carbohydrates) as breakfast: control pasta (CP) made from100% durum wheat; 30% red sorghum pasta (RSP) and; 30% white sorghum pasta (WSP).

Background/objectives: Test efficacy of the social emotional learning (SEL)-based Mighty Girls program, a program culturally tailored for English-speaking Hispanic/Latino girls in seventh grade comprised of classroom sessions and a virtual reality computer game. We hypothesized that the curriculum would decrease risky sexual behaviors in a program that can be used as part of a comprehensive sex education curriculum or as a stand-alone program.
Methods: A randomized group trial was conducted in which 22 low-income, predominately Hispanic schools within the Miami-Dade County Public School System were randomly assigned to intervention (consented = 335) and control (consented = 217) conditions.

This study examines the link between employment-related time poverty and food away from home (FAFH) behaviour. We use a large representative sample of Australians drawn from five waves of panel data from the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) survey. Endogeneity biases stemming from reverse causality and omitted variable issues are resolved using fixed effect-instrumental variable approach while other quasi-experimental methods are applied to check for consistency in findings.
