Zero-gravity treadmills allow alterations in training load. Data are lacking on the utilization of this strategy to allow injured Masters-level athletes to return to activity and regain their fitness. A 6-week training program was designed for a 39-year-old male runner recovering from Achilles surgery using a zero-gravity treadmill. Three training sessions per week were performed with gradually increasing loads. Cardiopulmonary exercise testing and bioelectrical impedance analysis were performed before and after program completion. Following the training program, the athlete was able to return to full weight-bearing running. On cardiopulmonary exercise testing, there were improvements in peak oxygen consumption (42.9 vs 47.3 mL/min/kg; 118.6% vs 130.5% of predicted). On bioelectrical impedance analysis, there were small improvements in total weight, skeletal muscle mass, and adiposity felt to be within the standard of error for bioelectrical impedance analysis. In conclusion, load-altering exercise may be helpful for the Masters-level athlete recovering from Achilles tendon surgery.

Background/objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between CRF (cardiorespiratory fitness) and body composition, specifically obesity indicators, in a sample of schoolchildren from the continental and Adriatic regions of the Republic of Croatia. Given that Croatia ranks among the leading countries in Europe in terms of obesity, it is believed that there is a need to combat this condition starting from school age. The usefulness of cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) lies in the fact that it is one of the indicators of children's overall health and is considered a measure of general health status.

Introduction: Obesity is a growing public health issue, especially among young adults, with long-term management strategies still under debate. This prospective study compares the effects of caloric restriction and isocaloric diets with different macronutrient distributions on body composition and anthropometric parameters in obese women during a 12-week weight loss program, aiming to identify the most effective dietary strategies for managing obesity-related health outcomes.
Methods: A certified clinical nutritionist assigned specific diets over a 12-week period to 150 participants, distributed as follows: hypocaloric diets-low-energy diet (LED, 31 subjects) and very low-energy diet (VLED, 13 subjects); isocaloric diets with macronutrient distribution-low-carbohydrate diet (LCD, 48 subjects), ketogenic diet (KD, 23 subjects), and high-protein diet (HPD, 24 subjects); and isocaloric diet without macronutrient distribution-time-restricted eating (TRE, 11 subjects).

It is widely accepted that mobile ions are responsible for the slow electronic responses observed in metal halide perovskite-based optoelectronic devices, and strongly influence long-term operational stability. Electrical characterisation methods mostly observe complex indirect effects of ions on bulk/interface recombination, struggle to quantify the ion density and mobility, and are typically not able to fully quantify the influence of the ions upon the bulk and interfacial electric fields. We analyse the bias-assisted charge extraction (BACE) method for the case of a screened bulk electric field, and introduce a new characterisation method based on BACE, termed ion drift BACE.
