The successful progression of therapeutic antibodies and other biologics from the laboratory to the clinic depends on their possession of "drug-like" biophysical properties. The techniques and the resultant biophysical and biochemical parameters used to characterize their ease of manufacture can be broadly defined as developability. Focusing on antibodies, this review firstly discusses established and emerging biophysical techniques used to probe the early-stage developability of biologics, aimed towards those new to the field.

Background: Trace amounts of consumed alcohol are detectable within sweat and insensible perspiration. However, the relationship between ingested and transdermally emitted alcohol is complex, varying across environmental conditions and involving a degree of lag. Background: Although osteoarthritis (OA) is the most prevalent form of arthritis, there is still no effective treatment capable of combining immunomodulatory effects with cartilage repair. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) represent a promising new generation of cell-free therapies for OA. Blood-derived products, including plasma, are an easily available and abundant source of EVs with anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties.

The cannabinoid receptor 1 (CBR) regulates synaptic transmission in the central nervous system, but also has important roles in the peripheral organs controlling cellular metabolism. While earlier generations of brain penetrant CBR antagonists advanced to the clinic for their effective treatment of obesity, such molecules were ultimately shown to exhibit negative effects on central reward pathways that thwarted their further therapeutic development. The peripherally restricted CBR inverse agonists MRI-1867 and MRI-1891 represent a new generation of compounds that retain the metabolic benefits of CBR inhibitors while sparing the negative psychiatric effects.
