National Risk Assessment Laboratory for Antimicrobial Resistance of Animal Original Bacteria, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, China.
Introduction: causes Glässer's disease in pigs, a leading cause of death in swine herds and a major contributor to economic losses in the global swine industry. Although several studies have investigated antimicrobial resistance in , the correlation between phenotypic and genotypic resistance remains unclear due to incomplete genetic resistance mechanisms detection.
Methods: The susceptibility of 117 clinical isolates to 7 antimicrobials was determined using a broth microdilution method.
African animal trypanosomosis (AAT) in cattle is primarily managed through trypanocide administration and insecticide application. Trypanocides can be used for both treatment and prophylaxis, but failure is often reported; this may occur due to resistance, substandard drugs, or inappropriate administration. This study in Tanzania aims to quantify reasons for trypanocide failure.

To mitigate these impacts, farmers frequently use antimicrobials without professional advice, potentially yielding drug residues in livestock products and the food chain, as well as resistant antimicrobial genes. Recent studies identified Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP) and Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) as the diseases most negatively affecting ruminant livestock productivity and farmers' wellbeing in Ghana.

Key Laboratory of New Animal Drug Project, Gansu Province, Lanzhou 730050, China.
This cross-sectional study assessed the prevalence, bacterial distribution, antimicrobial susceptibility, and potential risk factors associated with subclinical mastitis (SCM) in small-holder dairy herds in Gansu Province, Northwest China. Forty small-holder cow farms were randomly selected from eight cities/counties in six districts of Gansu Province, and a total of = 530 lactating cows were included in this study. SCM prevalence was noted at 38.

The emergence of pandrug-resistant (PDR) and extensive drug-resistant (XDR) methicillin-resistant and vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA and VRSA) isolates from bovine milk samples along with biofilm formation ability and harboring various virulence genes complicates the treatment of bovine mastitis and highlights the serious threat to public health. This study investigated for the first time the frequency, antimicrobial resistance profiles, biofilm-forming ability, virulence factors, spa and staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec) types of MRSA and VRSA isolated from clinical and subclinical bovine mastitis in Egypt. A total of 808 milk samples were collected from each quarter of 202 dairy animals, including 31 buffaloes and 171 cattle.
