Background: In Japan, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) with self-expanding valves (SEV) was approved for patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and on chronic maintenance dialysis in May 2023. This study assessed the safety and efficacy of TAVR with SEVs in this patient population.
Methods: This prospective, non-randomized, single-center study evaluated the safety and effectiveness of TAVR using a supra-annular SEV in Japanese patients with severe AS on chronic maintenance dialysis.

Purpose/objectives: Radiotherapy (RT) is curative for the majority of patients with primary indolent orbital adnexal lymphoma (IOAL). Some reports suggest inferior outcomes for bilateral IOAL, leading to uncertainty regarding optimal management for this presentation. This multicentre, retrospective study evaluated long-term outcomes of bilateral IOAL patients treated with radiotherapy alone.

In France, the practice of laboratory medicine has, over the past ten years or so, met with a certain amount of disenchantment from medical students. Despite its intricacy and importance to healthcare, the world of the clinical laboratory lacks visibility in medical studies. While other phenomena can explain this disenchantment, our belief in the importance of promoting greater visibility of laboratory medicine in medical studies led us to examine for this article the images and symbols associated with the profession, based on a semiotic analysis.
