Imidazolium-based ionic liquids have been widely utilized as versatile solvents for metal nanoparticle preparation. Silver nanoparticles and have displayed potent antimicrobial activities. This work aimed to study the effect of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide-based ionic liquid on the silver-nanoparticle-complexed and its topical film. The ratio and conditions for preparation were optimized by the design of the experiments. The optimal ratio was silver nanoparticles: extract: ionic liquid at 97:1:2, and the conditions were 80 °C for 1 h. The prediction was corrected with a low percentage error. The optimized formula was loaded into a topical film made of polyvinyl alcohol and Eudragit, and its properties were evaluated. The topical film was uniform, smooth, and compact and had other desired characteristics. The topical film was able to control the release of silver-nanoparticle-complexed from the matrix layer. Higuchi's model was used to fit the kinetic of the release. The skin permeability of the silver-nanoparticle-complexed was improved by about 1.7 times by the ionic liquid, which might increase solubility. The produced film is suitable for topical applications and may be utilized in the development of potential future therapeutic agents for the treatment of diseases.

Zaltoprofen (ZAL) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with a short half-life (∼2.8 h) due to extensive first pass metabolism. In this context, 16 different polymeric film forming solutions (PFFS) of ZAL were developed using different grades of Eudragits, Polyvinylpyrrolidones, Kollicoat MAE 100 P and Hydroxypropyl cellulose as film formers, and polyethylene glycol 400 as a plasticizer in equal parts of ethanol and isopropyl alcohol used as solvents.

Oleic acid liposomes (OALs) are novel vesicular carriers ofunsaturated fatty acids and their corresponding ionized species, arranged within an enclosed lipid bilayer. This study aimed to encapsulate moxifloxacin HCl (MOX), a broad-spectrum antibacterial drug into OALs for effective treatment of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection through topical application. Various OALs were formulatedby combining varied quantities of phosphatidylcholine (PC), oleic acid (OA), and cholesterol (CH) with 50 mg of MOX.

Background: The colonization of (SA) acquired in nosocomial infections may develop acute and chronic infections such as Methicillin-Resistant (MRSA) in the nose. As a commensal microorganism with the ability to form a biofilm, SA can dwell on the skin, nostrils, throat, perineum, and axillae of healthy humans. Nitric oxide (NO) is an unstable gas with various molecular functions and has antimicrobial properties which are converted into many potential treatments.
