The present study was performed to survey the dominant tick populations and molecularly determine the pathogenic agents of anaplasmosis in ticks from Gyeongsang, Republic of Korea. A total of 3825 questing ticks were collected by the flagging method from 12 sites near animal farms in Gyeongsang from March to October 2021. A molecular genomic study was performed with ticks stored in 70% ethanol to detect genes by the previously described method. The monthly incidence of ticks varied by developmental stages, i.e., nymphs, adults, and larvae, and each of their populations peaked in May, March, and October, respectively. The predominant tick species were sp., , and in order. To determine the infection rate, collected ticks were pooled into 395 groups. The minimum infection rate (MIR) of was 0.7% (27 pools). That of was highest (23 pools, MIR 0.6%), followed by -like spp. clade B (2 pools, MIR 0.1%), (1 pool, MIR 0.1%), and (1 pool, MIR 0.1%), respectively. In this study, five species of ticks, including unidentified species, were collected in 12 survey sites in Gyeongsang, but their prevalence was somewhat different according to the tick species and survey sites. Further, the incidence rate (6.8%) of 4 spp. was not as high in tick pools. However, the results of this study may offer a basis for future epidemiological research and risk assessment of tick-borne diseases.

Objectives: To evaluate (1) the association between nailfold capillaroscopy pattern and 5-year risk for incident interstitial lung disease and (2) the association between transition in nailfold capillaroscopy pattern and risk of incident interstitial lung disease.
Methods: Data of adult patients from the EUSTAR database fulfilling the ACR-EULAR criteria with a disease duration ⩽5 years, having a scleroderma pattern at nailfold capillaroscopy with high-resolution computed tomography confirmed absence of interstitial lung disease (i.e.

Background And Objectives: Melanoma remains a leading cause of skin cancer mortality despite advancements in targeted therapies and immunotherapies. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as potential biomarkers for cancer prognosis and treatment response. This study aims to analyze survival outcomes according to various miRNA subtypes, assess the association between specific miRNAs and treatment response, and include patient staging to evaluate their prognostic significance.

To explore the dynamic molecular responses to CO-driven ocean acidification (OA) during the early developmental stages of sea urchins, gametes of Strongylocentrotus intermedius were fertilized and developed to the four-armed larva stage in either natural seawater (as a control; pH = 7.99 ± 0.01) or acidified conditions (ΔpH = -0.

Background: Renal cell cancer (RCC) is the most common and highly malignant subtype of kidney cancer. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are components of tumor microenvironment (TME) that influence RCC progression. The impact of RCC-secreted small non-coding RNAs (sncRNAs) on TME is largely underexplored.

Early missed abortion is defined as a pregnancy of ≤ 12 weeks in which there is a cessation of life in the developing embryo or fetus, leading to its retention within the uterine cavity without being spontaneously expelled promptly. This condition is commonly observed and significantly impacts human reproductive health. This study aimed to identify key genes related to ferroptosis that could serve as novel biomarkers for early missed abortion.
