The paper studies the mechanisms of plastic relaxation and mechanical response depending on the concentration of Cu atoms at grain boundaries (GBs) in nanocrystalline aluminum with molecular dynamics simulations. A nonmonotonic dependence of the critical resolved shear stress on the Cu content at GBs is shown. This nonmonotonic dependence is related to the change in plastic relaxation mechanisms at GBs. At a low Cu content, GBs slip as dislocation walls, whereas an increase in Cu content involves a dislocation emission from GBs and grain rotation with GB sliding.

Background And Purpose: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients display genetic polymorphisms in toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) genes, contributing to dysregulate enteric nervous system (ENS) circuits with increased levels of 5-HT and alteration of the neuroimmune crosstalk. In this study, we investigated the impact of TLR4 signalling on mouse ENS dysfunction caused by dextran sulphate sodium (DSS)-induced ileitis.
Experimental Approach: Male C57BL/6J (wild-type [WT]) and TLR4 mice (10 ± 2 weeks old) received 2% DSS in drinking water for 5 days and then were switched to 3-day regular drinking water.

The glassy state of inorganic-organic hybrid metal halides combines their excellent optoelectronic properties with the outstanding processability of glass, showcasing unique application potential in solar devices, display technologies, and plastic electronics. Herein, by tailoring the organic cation from -phenylpiperazine to dimethylamine gradually, four types of zero-dimensional antimony halides are obtained with various optical and thermal properties. The guest water molecules in crystal (-phenylpiperazine)SbCl·Cl·5HO lead to the largest distortion of the Sb-halogen unit, resulting in the red emission different from the yellow emission of other compounds.

Background: Despite a variety of principles proposed for drawing trilobed and quadrilobed flaps for the reconstruction of nasal skin defects, the application of these principles in a detailed and reliable way remains questionable.
Methods: We present a novel method for drawing trilobed and quadrilobed flaps to cover nasal tip skin defects. The method is based on the use of templates corresponding to four trilobed flaps with overall angles of 60°, 70°, 80°, and 90°, and two quadrilobed flaps with angles of 90° and 105°.
