Background: Right ventricular dysfunction (RVD) is common in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, and it is associated with poor prognosis. However, no biomarker reflecting RVD is available for routine clinical use.
Methods: Proteomic analysis of myocardium from the left ventricle and right ventricle (RV) of patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction with (n=10) and without RVD (n=10) who underwent heart transplantation was performed.

Objectives: Supra-normal left ventricular ejection fraction (snLVEF) represents a heterogeneous group with distinct prognoses. Left atrial (LA) strain, measured by speckle tracking echocardiography (STE), is a validated prognostic indicator. This study aimed to evaluate LA and left ventricular (LV) mechanical strains in hypertensive patients with snLVEF.

Aims: Patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction represent half of the heart failure patients nowadays, an at least steady trend due to the aging of the population. We investigated whether the parameters obtained from cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) correlated with the prognosis of these patients. This prospective observational cohort study assesses the relationship between the CPET parameters peakVO and VE/VCO slope and the number of heart failure hospitalizations or cardiovascular death of these patients.

Unlabelled: Testing methods of detecting various cardiac biomarkers play a significant influence in determining and treating cardiac-related conditions and ultimate prognosis. With the increasing global prevalence of cardiac disease, the importance of rapid testing methods in diagnosis and management has grown tremendously. The point-of-care testing (POCT) method is a potential biochemical diagnostic technique that may overcome the issue of delayed laboratory results, particularly in regions with limited access to advanced laboratory equipment or resource-constrained.

Although relatively rare, cardiac metastases represent a significant clinical challenge because of their impact on cardiac function and overall patient prognosis. This case presents a rare and atypical presentation of a patient with ventricular arrhythmia revealing a metastatic cancer in the heart. A 59-year-old man with lung cancer was admitted for chest tightness and episodes of syncope.
