Background: This video article describes the use of bone-anchored prostheses for patients with transtibial amputations, most often resulting from trauma, infection, or dysvascular disease. Large studies have shown that about half of all patients with a socket-suspended artificial limb experience limited mobility and limited prosthesis use because of socket-related problems. These problems occur at the socket-residual limb interface as a result of a painful and unstable connection, leading to an asymmetrical gait and subsequent pelvic and back pain.

As knowledge accumulates in science and society in a distributed fashion, erroneous derivations can be introduced into the corpus of knowledge. Such derivations can compromise the validity of any units of knowledge that rely on them in the future. Can societal knowledge maintain some level of integrity given simple distributed error-checking mechanisms? In this paper, we investigate the following formulation of the question: assuming that a constant fraction of the new derivations is wrong, is it possible for simple error-checking mechanisms that apply when a new unit of knowledge is derived to maintain the integrity of the corpus of knowledge? This question was introduced by Ben-Eliezer et al.

Background: Alpine skiing requires flexibility, endurance, strength and rotational ability, which may be lost after long fusions to the pelvis for adult spinal deformity (ASD). Context: This study investigates the reaction mechanism of luteolin with selenium dioxide in ethanol. Through a detailed search for transition states and thermodynamic energy calculations, it was found that the reaction proceeds via two possible pathways, leading to the formation of products P1 and P2, respectively. A common feature of both pathways is that the first elementary step results in the formation of the intermediate INT1.
