The World Health Organization has reported radioactive Rn gas as the second leading cause of lung cancer and gives an extreme limit to indoor Radon (Rn) concentration as 100 Bq/m. To realize rapid and accurate Rn monitoring, we report an efficient visualized electrochemiluminescence (ECL) device for Rn detection with the lowest limit of detection (0.9 Bq/m/3.6 Bq h m) compared to known Rn detection methods and the shortest measurement time (less than 5 h) among non-pump methods. In detail, an efficient Rn probe is prepared by Au nanoparticles, Pb aptamer, as well as NH-ssDNA co-reactant and then modified on ITO electrodes to obtain Rn detection devices. With tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II)chloride (Ru(bpy)Cl) as an ECL emitter, the devices can exhibit ultra-high sensitivity and selectivity to trace Rn in environment via the ECL quenching caused by Pb, the relatively stable decay product of Rn. Furthermore, ECL imaging technology can be applied to realize the visualized Rn detection. An efficient up-response ECL detector was also invented to support this detection device to achieve accurate Rn detection in environment. This work reports noble gas ECL detection for the first time and provides an efficient strategy for rapid and accurate monitoring of trace Rn in environment.

Complex-valued neural networks process both amplitude and phase information, in contrast to conventional artificial neural networks, achieving additive capabilities in recognizing phase-sensitive data inherent in wave-related phenomena. The ever-increasing data capacity and network scale place substantial demands on underlying computing hardware. In parallel with the successes and extensive efforts made in electronics, optical neuromorphic hardware is promising to achieve ultra-high computing performances due to its inherent analog architecture and wide bandwidth.

The design of mixed-dimensional heterostructures has emerged to be a new frontier of research as it induces exciting physical/chemical properties that extend beyond the fundamental properties of single dimensional systems. Therefore, rational design of heterostructured materials with novel surface chemistry and tailored interfacial properties appears to be very promising for the devices such as the gas sensors. Here, a highly sensitive gas sensor device is constructed by employing heterostructures of boron doped molybdenum disulfide quantum dots (B-MoS Qdots) assembled into the matrix of TiCT MXene.

Proteomics analysis is crucial for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying muscle adaptations to different types of exercise, such as concentric and eccentric training. Traditional methods like two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and standard mass spectrometry have been used to analyze muscle protein content and modifications. This protocol details the preparation of muscle samples for proteomics analysis using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC).

Kawasaki disease (KD) has emerged as the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children, primarily due to the absence of highly sensitive and specific biomarkers for early and accurate diagnosis. To address this issue, a simple and comprehensive targeted metabolomics method employing ultra high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with Q-TRAP mass spectrometry has been developed to identify new metabolite biomarkers for KD. This method enables the simultaneous quantification of 276 metabolites, covering 60 metabolic pathways, with a particular emphasis on metabolites relevant to KD.

Background: Disorders of lipid metabolism are critical factors in the progression of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). However, the characteristics of lipid metabolism and related regulatory mechanisms of CLL remain unclear.
Methods: Hence, we identified altered metabolites and aberrant lipid metabolism pathways in patients with CLL by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-based non-targeted lipidomics.
