Stellate ganglion blockade (SGB) is a practical approach to managing many clinical disorders. Ultrasound-guided SGB is currently adopted as a more effective and safer method in humans. Developing this technique in rats would facilitate further study of SGB application.

Purpose Of Review: This review discusses the diagnosis and treatment of nervus intermedius neuralgia (NIN) and identifies gaps in the literature.
Recent Findings: The nervus intermedius is a branch of the facial nerve. NIN presents as a rare neuralgia of this nerve, causing deep ear pain, which may radiate to the auditory canal, auricle, mastoid, soft palate, temple, and angle of the jaw.

Orofacial migraine (OFM) and neurovascular orofacial pain (NVOP) are both recognized as migraine-related entities affecting the facial and orofacial regions, according to the International Classification of Orofacial Pain (ICOP). However, the distinction between these two conditions and the question of whether NVOP should be considered a separate entity remain subjects of ongoing debate. The aim of this study is to compare the diagnostic characteristics of OFM and NVOP to reassess whether they should continue to be classified as two distinct diagnoses.

The aim of the study is to describe the severity, temporal characteristics, and types of autonomic features as they relate to the characteristics of pain of the neuralgias. Also, to describe, based on literature, how these autonomic features can affect the treatment outcomes of patients with craniofacial neuralgias. We carried out a literature search using five databases, PubMed, Embase, OVID, Scopus and Web of Science.
