Herein, we report the synthesis and chiroptical properties of 2-azatriptycenes and their platinum(II) complexes, which represent the first examples of heterotriptycenes and metallotriptycenes that exhibit circularly polarized fluorescence and phosphorescence (CPF and CPP). Theoretical studies for CPF and CPP strongly support the experimental findings.

Carbon dots (CDs) with circularly polarized afterglow (CPA) materials have drawn increasing attention as cutting-edge research in the field of chiral luminescence owing to their promising applications in various fields. However, due to the weak optical activity of chiral CDs and the limited afterglow color of phosphorescent CDs, it is still a formidable challenge to construct multicolor CD-based CPA materials with a high luminescence dissymmetry factor (). Herein, positively charged aggregation-induced emission (AIE) CDs were prepared using dithiosalicylic acid and ionic liquid as precursors.

Dicationic, -symmetrical, tris-chelate Pt(IV) complexes of general formula [Pt(trz)(N∧N)](OTf), bearing two cyclometalated 4-butyl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1-1,2,3-triazol-5-ylidene (trz) ligands and one aromatic diimine [N∧N = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy, ), 4,4'-di--butyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dbbpy, ), 4,4'-dimethoxi-2,2'-bipyridine (dMeO-bpy, ), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen, ), 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (bphen, ), dipyrido[3,2-:2',3'-]phenazine (dppz, ), or 2,3-diphenylpyrazino[2,3-][1,10]phenanthroline (dpprzphen, )] are obtained through chloride abstraction from [PtCl(trz)] () using AgOTf in the presence of the corresponding diimine. Complexes show long-lived phosphorescence from LC excited states involving the diimine ligand, with quantum yields that reach 0.18 in solution and 0.

Organic phosphorescence or thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) scintillators, while effective in utilizing triplet excitons, are sensitive to temperature changes, which can impact radioluminescence performance. In this study, we have developed a type of temperature-adaptive organic scintillator with phosphorescence and TADF dual emission. These scintillators can automatically switch modes with temperature changes, enabling efficient radioluminescence from 77 to 400 K.

Developing smart materials with tunable high-temperature afterglow (HTA) luminescence remains a formidable challenge. This study presents a metal-free doping system using boric acid as matrix and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons as dopants. This composition achieves dynamically tunable afterglow combining a bright blue HTA lasting for over ten seconds even at 150°C and an ultra-long yellow room-temperature phosphorescence below 110°C.
