Background: Variation in stroke treatment metrics highlight a need for approaches to improve clinical processes. Training interventions can improve outcomes, but Australian physician trainees do not currently receive formal process-directed stroke training. Using intravascular catheter dressing audit data, we evaluated factors associated with non-compliant dressing. Male sex and gauze dressing had a higher risk of non-compliant dressing; presence of one or more lumens infusing, central venous catheter, PICC line, implantable port and contact precautions were associated with a lower risk of non-compliant dressing.

Prognosis is determined by optimal surgical outcome (macroscopic complete resection) most commonly achieved in tertiary hospitals. We investigated whether tertiary versus non-tertiary hospital as the location of an initial diagnostic intervention for histological confirmation before cytoreductive surgery versus immediate primary debulking surgery impacts outcome in patients with advanced ovarian cancer.
