Nitrogen (N) is a crucial macronutrient for plant growth, with nitrate as a primary inorganic N source for most plants. Beyond its role as a nutrient, nitrate also functions as a signalling molecule, influencing plant morphogenetic development. While nitrate utilization and signalling mechanisms have been extensively studied in model plants, the origin, evolution, and diversification of core components in nitrate uptake, assimilation, and signalling remain largely unexplored.

Background: The effect of targeted temperature management (TTM) combined with decompressive craniectomy (DC) on poor-grade aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) has not been previously addressed in the literature. This study aims to investigate the therapeutic outcomes of the combination of TTM and DC in patients with poor-grade aSAH.
Methods: This study represents a secondary analysis of the Multicenter Clinical Research on Targeted Temperature Management of Poor-grade Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (High-Quality TTM for PaSAH), a multicenter prospective study conducted in China.

Percutaneous pancreatic core biopsy is conclusive but challenging due to large-diameter needles, while smaller-diameter needles used in aspiration methods suffer from buckling and clogging. Inspired by the ovipositor of parasitic wasps, which resists buckling through self-propulsion and prevents clogging via friction-based transport, research has led to the integration of these functionalities into multi-segment needle designs or tissue transport system designs. This study aimed to combine these wasp-inspired functionalities into a single biopsy needle by changing the interconnection of the needle segments.

Despite its ecological significance, little is known about the genomic factors underpinning its adaptability and resilience in such harsh environments. This study investigates the genomic basis of Blastococcus's adaptability within its specific microniches, offering insights into its potential for biotechnological applications.

Numerous cellular and molecular processes during embryonic development prompt the fundamental question of how their tempos are coordinated and whether a common global modulator exists. While the segmentation clock tempo scales with the kinetics of gene expression and degradation processes of the core clock gene Hes7 across mammals, the coordination of these processes remains unclear. This study examines whether metabolic activities serve as a global modulator for the segmentation clock, finding them to be selective instead.
