We reported a case of Type 4 rectal cancer performed laparoscopic surgery. A 73-year-old man had diarrhea and constipation and underwent colonoscopy. From the first colonoscopy, histological findings of biopsy showed non-neoplastic cells. The results of colonoscopy strongly suggested the possibility of Type 4 rectal cancer. Therefore, we performed colonoscopy twice and he was diagnosed Type 4 rectal cancer. Computed tomography revealed no distant metastasis. He underwent radical laparoscopic surgery. The histopathological diagnosis was pStage Ⅲc(The 9th edition). He then received adjuvant chemotherapy but was relapsed at bones and lymph nodes. He died 18 months later after surgery.

Objectives: To prevent colorectal cancer (CRC), most patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) undergo (procto)colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis (IRA) or ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA). After surgery, these patients remain at risk of developing cancer in the remnant rectum or rectal cuff/pouch. We aimed to compare the long-term risk of cancer following IRA or IPAA in FAP.

Methods: This study aims to compare the prognostic outcomes of NEC and MiNEN by analyzing the clinicopathological features of these diseases and exploring factors affecting progression after radical surgery. Additionally, we employed whole-exome sequencing to investigate the molecular mechanisms influencing the prognosis of both conditions.

Metastasis to the rectum is very rare and is usually caused by primaries from the breast, gastrointestinal tract, and genitourinary system. We report here a case of acute intestinal obstruction caused by an unusual rectal stenosis, for which he underwent a diversion stoma. On extensive evaluation for the etiology of the rectal stenosis, he was diagnosed with diffuse gastric cancer with Schnitzler's metastasis to the rectal submucosa.

Bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BoHV-1) is a widespread respiratory infection that significantly impacts cattle health worldwide. To address this issue in China, we previously developed a novel double gene-deleted vaccine targeting gG and tk. In this study, we further evaluated the efficacy of this vaccine by challenging vaccinated cattle with a prevalent wild-type BoHV-1 strain and comparing its effectiveness against a commercially available inactivated BoHV-1 vaccine.

This study examined factors influencing the onset and progression of colorectal tumors, including patients' epidemiological data, tumor location (right-sided, left-sided, and rectal), histomorphology, perineural or intraneural invasion, lymph node status, immune reactions, mismatch repair (MMR) status, and commonly observed mutations. Our primary goal was to evaluate their predictive and prognostic value and interactions. We analyzed a retrospective cohort of 100 patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma diagnosed between 2020 and 2023, using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumor blocks.
