There is an increasing demand for high-precision gas absorption spectroscopy in basic research and industrial applications, such as gas tracking and leak warning. In this Letter, a novel, to the best of our knowledge, high-precision and real-time gas detection method is proposed. A femtosecond optical frequency comb is used as the light source, and a broadening pulse containing a range of oscillation frequencies is formed after passing through a dispersive element and a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Four absorption lines of HCN gas cells are measured at five different concentrations within a single pulse period. A single scan detection time of only 5 ns is obtained along with a coherence averaging accuracy of 0.0055 nm. High-precision and ultrafast detection of the gas absorption spectrum is accomplished while overcoming complexities related to the acquisition system and light source that are encountered in existing methods.

Introduction: Many patients acutely self-poisoned with organophosphorus insecticides have co-ingested ethanol. Currently, profenofos 50% emulsifiable concentrate (EC50) is commonly ingested for self-harm in Sri Lanka. Clinical experience suggests that ethanol co-ingestion makes management more difficult.

We report photodissociation processes and spectral measurements upon photoabsorption of size-selected cationic silver clusters, Ag, stored in an ion trap. The experiment shows that small clusters ( ≲ 15) dissociate upon one-photon absorption, whereas larger ones require multiple photons up to five in the present study. The emergence of multi-photon processes is attributed to collisional cooling in the presence of a buffer helium gas in the trap, which competes with size-dependent dissociation rates.

Within the framework of surface-adsorbate interactions relevant to chemical reactions of spent nuclear fuel, the study of actinide oxide systems remains one of the most challenging tasks at both the experimental and computational levels. Consequently, our understanding of the effect of their unique electronic configurations on surface reactions lags behind that of d-block oxides. To investigate the surface properties of this system, we present the first infrared spectroscopy analysis of carbon monoxide (CO) interaction with a monocrystalline actinide oxide, UO(111).

The ball-pitching plugging-selection profile control technology represents an effective and low-cost means of adjusting the profile of waterflooding well. The technology primarily utilizes polymer balls to plug the perforations, thereby achieving the effect of fine profile control. This paper aims to elucidate the migration and plugging laws of plugging-selection balls in wellbore and perforation plugging processes.
