Prone ventilation is an effective and increasingly utilised tool in the management of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a common sequela of COVID-19 infection. However, its use is associated with a significant risk of pressure ulcers. We report a unique case of prone positioning, catheter-related penile pressure ulcer. Clinical awareness, early recognition and regular repositioning is crucial in the prevention of this complication.
Background: Current treatments for penile erectile structures reconstruction are limited and remain a great challenge in clinical practice. Tissue engineering techniques using different seed cells and scaffolds to construct a neo-tissue open promising avenues for penile erectile structures repair and replacement and show great promise in the restoration of: structure, mechanical property, and function which matches the original tissue.
Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted by accessing the NCBI PubMed, Cochrane, and Google Scholar databases from January 1, 1990, to January, 1, 2022 using the search terms "Tissue engineering, Corpus cavernosum (CC), Tunica albuginea (TA), Acellular Matrix, Penile Reconstruction".
Penile prosthesis implantation is considered a last-resort treatment for erectile dysfunction, used when pharmacological and other conservative treatments are inadequate or at the patient's request. The well-documented complications of penile prostheses include pain, infection, mechanical failure, improper positioning, and erosion. In this case, we report a patient presenting with penile skin necrosis, despite the absence of typical risk factors such as diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, or chronic renal failure, attributed to pressure from a condom catheter that was used 15 years after the inflatable penile prosthesis implantation.

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is the involuntary leakage of urine in response to increased intra-abdominal pressure during episodes of exertion. A common treatment method for SUI is sling implantation underneath the urethra to provide support. Most current sling procedures, however, cannot adjust urethral tension postoperatively.
