This in vitro study aimed to compare the microleakage and marginal integrity of methacrylate/ormocer-based bulk-fill composite (BFC) restorations used in cervical marginal relocation with two different layering thicknesses in mesio-occlusal-distal (MOD) cavities exposed to thermo-mechanical loading. Standard MOD cavities were prepared in 60 mandibular molars and assigned into three groups: x-tra fil/AF + x-tra base/XB, Tetric N-Ceram Bulk Fill/TNB + Tetric N-Flow Bulk Fill/TFB, and Admira Fusion x-tra/AFX + Admira Fusion x-base/AFB. Each group was further divided into two subgroups (2 mm and 4 mm) based on the thickness of flowable BFCs ( = 10). The specimens were subjected to thermo-mechanical loading (240,000 cycles) and immersed in 0.2% methylene blue. Following mesiodistal sectioning, the specimens were examined under stereomicroscope (×25) and scored (0-3) for microleakage. Marginal integrity was examined using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Descriptive statistical methods and the chi-square test were used to evaluate the data ( < 0.05). While there was no statistically significant difference in gingival cement microleakage in the XB and AFB specimens with a 4 mm thickness, microleakage was significantly increased in the TFB specimen ( = 0.604, 0.481, 0.018 respectively). A significantly higher amount of score 0 coronal microleakage was detected in the AFX2 mm + AFB4 mm compared to the TNB2 mm + TFB4 mm ( = 0.039). The SEM examination demonstrated better marginal integrity in groups with 2 mm thick flowable BFCs. Ormocer and methacrylate-based materials can be used in marginal relocation with thin layers.

Objective: To evaluate the 36-month clinical performance of Single Bond Universal Adhesive (SBU; 3M ESPE, Germany) in non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs) using different modes of adhesion according to the FDI criteria. The primary outcome was the retention loss of the restorations, while the secondary outcomes included marginal staining, marginal adaptation, post-operative sensitivity and tooth vitality, recurrence of caries erosion and abfraction, and tooth integrity, all evaluated according to the FDI criteria.

Materials And Methods: In this study, the SBU Adhesive was applied to 246 NCCLs of 25 patients using different modes of adhesion: Self-etch (SE), selective-enamel-etching (SLE), and etch-and-rinse (ER).

Background: Thoracoscopic segmentectomy is the main surgical method for the treatment of earlylung cancer. With the promotion of technology and increasingly accurate criteria for lung subsegments, lung nodules with complex positions involving intersegmental and multisegments have become technical bottlenecks. This study aimed to verify whether seeking anatomical conditions for creating a fissure by tunneling techniques with precise resection of lung segments could solve this bottleneck problem.

Background: With the advances in the adhesive science, several conservative treatment options such as non-retentive overlays have been suggested for endodontically treated posterior teeth. However, information is scarce regarding the fracture strength and adaptation of non-retentive overlays compared with endocrowns, and the effect of material type in this respect. Thus, this study aimed to assess the fracture strength and internal and marginal adaptation of lithium disilicate (LDS) and hybrid ceramic endocrowns and non-retentive overlays for endodontically treated molar teeth.

Short- and long-term impact of the TaTME learning process: a single institutional study.

Department of Digestive Surgical Oncology, Institut Paoli-Calmettes, 232 Boulevard Sainte Marguerite, 13009, Marseille, France.

Background: Transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) is a promising and innovative approach for lower rectal cancer but requires high technical skill and learning process that can affect patient outcomes. We aimed to determine the learning curve of TaTME and then to assess its impact on 5-year oncologic outcomes.

Methods: Over a 54-month period, 94 patients underwent TaTME by experienced laparoscopic colorectal surgeons at our department.

Objective: To evaluate the retention rate and other clinical criteria of four different restorative techniques for non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs) after 4 years.

Methods: This is a prospective, randomized, double-blind, and split-mouth study evaluating four different adhesion strategies in non-carious cervical lesion restorations: adhesive restorative system (Scotchbond Universal Adhesive/Filtek Z350XT) without (SBU) and with selective enamel acid-etching (E-SBU), resin-modified glass-ionomer cements (Vitremer; RMGIC), and ethylenediaminetetraacetic as acid pretreatment (E-RMGIC). In total, 200 restorations were placed in 50 patients.
