Biomarkers that aid in early detection of neurodegeneration are needed to enable early symptomatic treatment and enable identification of people who may benefit from neuroprotective interventions. Increasing evidence suggests that sleep biomarkers may be useful, given the bi-directional relationship between sleep and neurodegeneration and the prominence of sleep disturbances and altered sleep architectural characteristics in several neurodegenerative disorders. This study aimed to demonstrate that sleep can accurately characterize specific neurodegenerative disorders (NDD).

Compared with simple formations, EPB (earth pressure balance) shield tunnelling in composite formations encounters severe problems with muck conditioning and require improved muck conditioning technology to fulfil expectations for continuous and efficient excavation. In the Nanchang Metro Line 4 Project, a water-rich sand-argillaceous siltstone composite formation is encountered. With a high moisture content and complex composite formation ratio, it is quite difficult to determine the optimum muck conditioning scheme, and thus, muck spewing accidents frequently occur during the tunnelling process.

Phytophthora blight caused by Phytophthora capsici is a serious disease affecting a wide range of plants. Biochar as a soil amendment could partially replace peat moss and has the potential to suppress plant diseases, but its effects on controlling phytophthora blight of container-grown peppers have less been explored, especially in combination of biological control using Trichoderma. In vitro (petri dish) and in vivo (greenhouse) studies were conducted to test sugarcane bagasse biochar (SBB) and mixed hardwood biochar (HB) controlling effects on pepper phytophthora blight disease with and without Trichoderma.

With the development of industry, agriculture, and aquaculture, excessive ammonia nitrogen mainly involving ionic ammonia (NH) and molecular ammonia (NH) has inevitable access to the aquatic environment, posing a severe threat to water safety. Photocatalytic technology shows great advantages for ammonia nitrogen removal, such as its efficiency, reusability, low cost, and environmental friendliness. In this study, CP (g-CN/CoP) composite materials, which exhibited high-efficiency ammonia nitrogen removal, were synthesized through a simple self-assembly method.

Collaborative intelligence (CI) involves human-machine interactions and is deemed safety-critical because their reliable interactions are crucial in preventing severe injuries and environmental damage. As these applications become increasingly data-driven, the reliability of CI applications depends on the quality of data, shaping the system's ability to interpret and respond in diverse and often unpredictable environments. In this regard, it is important to adhere to data quality standards and guidelines, thus facilitating the advancement of these collaborative systems in industry.
