As promising luminescent materials for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), thermally activated delayed fluorescence materials are booming vigorously in recent years, but robust blue ones still remain challenging. Herein, we report three highly efficient blue and deep-blue delayed fluorescence materials comprised of a weak electron acceptor chromeno[3,2-c]carbazol-8(5H)-one with a rigid polycyclic structure and a weak electron donor spiro[acridine-9,9'-xanthene]. They hold distinguished merits of excellent photoluminescence quantum yields (99%), ultrahigh horizontal transition dipole ratios (93.6%), and fast radiative transition and reverse intersystem crossing, which furnish superb blue and deep-blue electroluminescence with Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage coordinates (CIE) of (0.14, 0.18) and (0.14, 0.15) and record-beating external quantum efficiencies (ηs) of 43.4% and 41.3%, respectively. Their efficiency roll-offs are successfully reduced by suppressing triplet-triplet and singlet-singlet annihilations. Moreover, high-performance deep-blue and green hyperfluorescence OLEDs are achieved by utilizing these materials as sensitizers for multi-resonance delayed fluorescence dopants, providing state-of-the-art ηs of 32.5% (CIE = 0.14, 0.10) and 37.6% (CIE = 0.32, 0.64), respectively, as well as greatly advanced operational lifetimes. These splendid results can surely inspire the development of blue and deep-blue luminescent materials and devices.

Complex internal stresses that appear in flexible thin-film electronic devices under long-term deformation operation are associated with incompatible mechanical properties of the multiple layers, which potentially cause intralayer fracture and separation. These defects may result in device instability, performance loss, and failure. Herein, a thermoplastic functional strategy is proposed for manufacturing high-performance stretchable semiconducting polymers with excellent strain-tolerance capacities for flexible electronic devices.

Expanded heterohelicenes composed of alternating linearly and angularly fused multi-resonance (MR) skeletons have gained wide interest owing to their promising narrowband emissions. Herein, a pair of sym- and asym-expanded heterohelicene isomers was obtained by merging boron/oxygen (B/O)-embedded MR triangulene and indolo[3,2,1-jk]carbazole units via one-pot synthesis. Owing to their fully resonating extended helical skeleton, the target heterohelicenes exhibit a significantly narrowed spectra bandwidth while emission red-shifting, thus affording deep-blue narrowband emission with a peak at approximately 460 nm, full-width-at-half-maximum (FWHM) of only 18 nm, and near-unity photoluminescence quantum yields.

Objective: Salmon fish farming has become a major industry in Norway, increasingly dependent on contracted maritime transport and different special services. The aim of the paper was to explore work safety for contractors in Norwegian fish farming. Previous research from other industries illustrates contractors are more susceptible to time and work pressure, have more hazardous jobs, and are more accident-prone, compared to fixed employees.

Background: Empathy of medical students is crucial, yet it tends to decline as students enter later academic years. Empathy appeared to be affected by the learning environment (LE), which could be a potential contributor. We conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate the association between LE and empathy.

Fully π-conjugated polymers consisting of plane and rigid aromatic units present a fantastic optoelectronic property, a promising candidate for printed and flexible optoelectronic devices. However, obtaining high-performance conjugated polymers with an excellent intrinsically flexible and printable capacity is a great challenge due to their inherent coffee-ring effect and brittle properties. Here, we report an asymmetric substitution strategy to improve the printable and stretchable properties of deep-blue light-emitting conjugated polymers with a strong inter-aggregate capillary interaction for flexible printed polymer light-emitting diodes.
