Diesel exhaust emissions are major outdoor air pollutants. Reducing the emission of NOx by diesel commercial vehicles and related machineries is at present a great challenge. In this study, we synthesize a catalyst for low-temperature catalytic reduction of NO using calcinated UiO-66(Zr) as a host for the doping of cerium, manganese, and titanium by the incipient wetness impregnation, followed by the dispersion of 1.0 wt % platinum. A solid solution of CeZrMnTiO/1.0Pt (CZMTO/Pt) is synthesized as evident by the structural characterizations. The catalyst demonstrates significant NO reduction in the laboratory due to the synergistic effect of various elements, with NO conversion above 80% at 160 °C.

The excessive consumption of sulfamethoxazole (SMX), a pharmaceutical antibiotic, poses significant environmental hazards. The FeS-persulfate (FeS-PS) system has been employed for SMX remediation because of its excellent performance. However, FeS tends to agglomerate and become passivated, negatively impacting its activation performance.

Human CblC catalyzes the indispensable processing of dietary vitamin B by the removal of its β-axial ligand and an either one- or two-electron reduction of its cobalt center to yield cob(II)alamin and cob(I)alamin, respectively. Human CblC possesses five cysteine residues of an unknown function. We hypothesized that Cys149, conserved in mammals, tunes the CblC reactivity.

Tartary buckwheat is a nutrient-rich pseudo-cereal whose starch contents, including amylose and amylopectin contents, and their properties hold significant importance for enhancing yield and quality. The granule-bound starch synthase (GBSS) is a key enzyme responsible for the synthesis of amylose, directly determining the amylose content and amylose-to-amylopectin ratio in crops. Although one has already been cloned, the genes at the genome-wide level have not yet been fully assessed and thoroughly analyzed in Tartary buckwheat.

: Pteridine reductase 1 (PTR1) has been one of the prime targets for discovering novel antileishmanial therapeutics in the fight against Leishmaniasis. This enzyme catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of pterins to their tetrahydro forms. While chemotherapy remains the primary treatment, its effectiveness is constrained by drug resistance, unfavorable side effects, and substantial associated costs.

Catalytically active nanomaterials, or nanozymes, have gained significant attention as alternatives to natural enzymes due to their low cost, ease of preparation, and enhanced stability. Because of easy preparation, excellent biocompatibility, and unique optoelectronic properties, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have attracted increasing attention in many fields, including nanozymes. In this work, we demonstrated the applicability of beta-cyclodextrin functionalized gold nanoparticles (β-CD-AuNPs) as enzyme mimics for different substances, including TMB and DA.
