Understanding of the barriers to adequate health care experienced by sexual and gender minority (SGM) people cannot be achieved in the absence of robust and appropriate data. The inclusion of SGM populations in health research and the collection of sexual orientation and gender identity data in research and routine clinical practice is therefore essential to understanding the unique needs of these populations and addressing inequities in health outcomes.

Sperm competition is found across multicellular organisms using both external and internal fertilization. Sperm competition and post-copulatory cryptic female choice can promote incompatibility between species due to the antagonistic coevolution of the sexes within a species. This between-species incompatibility is accelerated and markedly asymmetrical when sexual mode differs, producing the "weak inbreeder, strong outcrosser" (WISO) pattern.

Peyronie's disease (PD) is a disorder of the penis that is associated with poor mental health, lowered psychosocial- and sexual wellbeing, which may increase the risk of childlessness in men affected by the disorder. Although this is an issue of significant clinical importance, it has not been addressed in research to date. We conducted a longitudinal cohort study based on data from Swedish national registers utilizing a large sample of help-seeking men with PD, along with matched subjects from the general population.
