The optimal endovascular management of cervical carotid dissection causing tandem occlusion remains uncertain. We investigated the impact of emergent carotid stenting during endovascular treatment (EVT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in patients with tandem occlusion secondary to cervical carotid artery dissection. This was a secondary analysis of patients treated with EVT for AIS due to occlusive carotid artery dissection and tandem occlusion included in the retrospective international Antithrombotic Treatment for Stroke Prevention in Cervical Artery Dissection (STOP-CAD) study.

Background: The increase in survival rates among women treated for cervical cancer (CC) requires greater attention to the side effects of treatment. Although a high prevalence of pelvic floor disorders (PFD) in this population is documented, there is a lack of consensus regarding physical therapy approaches.

Methods: Cross-sectional observational study with 56 physiotherapists who answered a questionnaire.

Feather pecking, related feather damage, and mortality are crucial welfare and efficiency traits in laying hens. When individuals are kept in sib groups, genetic analysis of feather scores captures the performer and receiver components of feather damage due to pecking. Genetic parameters and breeding values estimated from such data with an ordinary linear mixed model refer to total breeding values.

Background And Purpose: Quantitative MRI (qMRI) has been explored for detecting tumor changes during radiation therapy (RT) in head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC). Clinical trials show prolonged survival with PD-1 targeted immune checkpoint inhibition. Hypofractionated radiation regimens are being studied to counteract radioresistant clonogen formation.

Introduction: Mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) patients often have myositis, however, myopathological and clinical data for MCTD are limited. Recent reports have shown that the pathology of MCTD myositis resembles that of immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM), whereas earlier reports described perifascicular atrophy or inflammatory infiltrates predominantly in the perivascular region in MCTD myositis. We aim to describe the clinical and myopathological features of MCTD myositis.
